Yay for paying off those balances - good feeling isn't it :)

Cheers Westie it's great to know I'm gonna be so much better off each month, so tempting to just go and blow the money I'll save this month on wife and daughter.
2016 was both financially and emotionally. 2017 will be our year.
  • Morning everybody! £4 already potted this morning as BF gave me money for his food shopping and a note, notes gone in my purse though :)

Hope you're all okay and have a fab day x

A gold star to you for a lovely welcome, Ruth, and thanks. :staradmin Another post for you further down. v

Good Morning, everyone, I hope you all have a good day and are able to save well where possible. To all those not be feeling well or are under the weather in any other way, take great care and be patient and here's hoping you'll all will be much better soon. For now, here are special {{{hugs}}} to help you through. Take care, all Potters, save cash whenever you're able, but don't worry if you can't!
Thank you so much for this forum, I'm the type of person who spends every last penny they have but now I know I'm one step closer to my holiday :D x

I'm glad you're so pleased you've done so well, Lizzie, but I thought your pot was sealed?!! :naughty: Why not keep a running total like Lynsey if you'd sooner know how much you have?
NB everyone: Be very wary of opening your pots out of curiosity, as for some of you instead of making you happy about what you've saved - it could easily have the reverse affect if you haven't, until then, been able to save as well as you'd thought!! It may even encourage you to spend your savings...or even worse not to bother saving any more! Whereas if you'd simply carried on unaware, your finances and savings may have improved and you saved more!!! Whilst the pots stay sealed you remain in suspense.....AND SAVING AS HARD AS POSSIBLE!!!!! Please don't jeopardise your chances. However, IF you must open your pots to check the contents (your money, your choice) then please don't broadcast it on the thread as others may be enticed to follow suit - and you could even risk spoiling their savings!!
Sorry folks, but I've so often wanted to get that point across before, please don't take it to heart, Lizzie, as it isn't just you, I promise you, so carry on going through your holiday brochures and I'm pleased you like the thread so much. ;) Also, the above obviously doesn't apply to those who need to bank theirs every so often.
Well done, JoJo, I'm glad your BIL settled his dues.
Excellent potting, Daddybear, and whether it's more or less than you're suspected £60 it's money you've not spent, so be very proud!! :j Brilliant work with your CC being paid off!!! :T Another message below.
Well I am officially loan free!! I only have my CC to clear now. I need to raid my ISA to loan my sister some money so I'm thinking of taking a little extra to help pay for my insurance for next year. This will mean I can focus on clearing my CC then start paying back my ISA money
That's fantastic news, Ruth, you've done marvellously!!!! :j :TAll the best in clearing your CC pronto!
I'm delighted to hear you so enjoyed the Elvis Experience, Kerry, what a singer!! :D
Good wishes on the phased returns to work, Seaotter you too Westie, I hope all goes well....the saving too! :D:D
Sounds like everyone is doing really well....Keep it going Guys....You CAN do this, we can ALL do this!! ;) XXx
How right you are, Helen, and you of all people know this can be done now! I hope you're soon feeling very much better.
Cheers Westie it's great to know I'm gonna be so much better off each month, so tempting to just go and blow the money I'll save this month on wife and daughter.
Oooooh, I can well understand how you want to spoil your Wife and Daughter, Daddybear, but how about using it for potting towards a great Christmas or holiday - or half towards each?! Just a thought. ;)

Have a great Wednesday, SPCers! :j Stay safe, healthy and.....filling them pots!

    Sue x

Thanks for the star Sue :D it's already up on the shelf with the others. Luckily i'm not paying any interest on my CC until August so i have 22 pay days to get the money sorted. It will be tight but do-able now that my loan is out of the way.

Potting £5.35 once i get home, a nice little total to kick start March :) I'm still determined to hit that £1,000 target!

Hope you lovely people are doing better than me on potting.

Haven't been posting on this thread recently and neither am I potting regularly. At least the pot is still sealed and untouched. Had a stray £1 in one of my old bags and potted it yesterday.

It is amazing how cautious you are when you are spending with cash. DH is the one who does the shopping and now that he uses only cash, there is so much money left over (though cupboards/fridge is filled sparingly :rotfl:). But I don't get to pot the change. Will have to find more innovative ways to find change. DH found some roadkill (£2.75) at his workplace. Maybe I should coax him up to pot the whole lot. :D

  • Thanks Sue! Sorry for opening my tin but it was nearly full to the top :) I've bought a smash pot thing now as it holds more money! So will only count money again when that pot is full and will go in the bank x

    Hiya everyone :hello:

It's our 5th wedding anniversary today but we are not going out as I'm working and DH is on earlies. So we will probably go for a drink at the weekend and then put the monies to our holiday meals-out as we go on Monday

It's also my last day at work as we have decided I should take early retirement. I am starting to find it a bit too much now working five out of ten every fortnight.

It seemed a good time to give my notice as only have to work this week and then away for the other three weeks anyway. So not really decided what I will do after my holidays but will worry about that when I come back and just enjoy the time away.

Anyways, when sorting the bags for packing I found a little purse with some change in it - about 70p - and popped it in the pot :D

Hope you all have a super Thursday
