Another £12 in the pot today. I know it seems alot but moneys going to be very tight from april onwards so trying to put as much in as poss.

It's a good feeling when you've paid off debts and can save the money instead! In a few months I will have paid off my CC (£633) not much I know but I'd rather be saving the cash than paying off CC. Funny how it's quick to spend and can take ages to pay off

To all those not be feeling well or are under the weather in any other way, take great care and be patient and here's hoping you'll all will be much better soon. For now, here are special {{{hugs}}} to help you through. Take care, all Potters, save cash whenever you're able, but don't worry if you can't!

I'm glad you're so pleased you've done so well, Lizzie, but I thought your pot was sealed?!! Why not keep a running total like Lynsey if you'd sooner know how much you have?

NB everyone: Be very wary of opening your pots out of curiosity, as for some of you instead of making you happy about what you've saved - it could easily have the reverse affect if you haven't, until then, been able to save as well as you'd thought!! It may even encourage you to spend your savings...or even worse not to bother saving any more! Whereas if you'd simply carried on unaware, your finances and savings may have improved and you saved more!!! Whilst the pots stay sealed you remain in suspense.....AND SAVING AS HARD AS POSSIBLE!!!!! Please don't jeopardise your chances. However, IF you must open your pots to check the contents (your money, your choice) then please don't broadcast it on the thread as others may be enticed to follow suit - and you could even risk spoiling their savings!!

Sorry folks, but I've so often wanted to get that point across before, please don't take it to heart, Lizzie, as it isn't just you, I promise you, so carry on going through your holiday brochures and I'm pleased you like the thread so much. Also, the above obviously doesn't apply to those who need to bank theirs every so often.

I must say it is tempting to think about how much is in my pot. Fortunately, it is really sealed! - "Keep calm and keep saving" - title of my pot! I know myself and I would have had a look by now if I could get into it:rotfl: Tbh it makes me more motivated to save when I have no idea how much is in the pot.

I think I've converted one of my work colleagues to potting as she took an empty tall biscuit tin (all biscuits eaten by our small team of course) :rotfl:to use as a pot for her change after I told her about my potting. Only potted 50p today.

Mine is a properly sealed one too. I once put a tenner into it as I hadn't potted for more than a week. Only realised I had that in cash because I wanted to go for lunch with a colleague the next day to a pub where they charge 50p for a card transaction. :eek:

£4 from me today to balance up my totals - not very MSE but I bought myself another terrmundi pot so I can have my £1 and £2 alongside each other, then the odd coins go to the money sorter till can change them into gold coins,

Cheers sueuu and dragon lily. Decided I'm gonna do a bit of everything as I have put a lot into my savings this month, so gonna treat em a bit as well. Broke one of my pots today (not on purpose) so had a count up £75 not bad seeing as that's the pot I use least. Can I put that in my signature?

Just a quickie from me as I'm running late....


Got a busy day today which is not ideal as I've not been well this Week.....but it simply HAS to be done and is across the other side of London so I can't say I'm looking forward to being on the Tube for an hour....but I'm sure it will go fine....


Managed to Pot £1.90 yesterday....It's slowed down as money is a bit tight while I'm not well and not able to Work as much as I'd like....but I AM still Potting so I can be proud of that

Having the sealed pot way of saving is addictive and I surprise myself every november at the amount that comes out of the pot, just keep potting everyone.
