    Evening

£2.07 potted today. My tin weighs 9lb and is nowhere near full :(. I should have got the usual small ones.

I bought a new pot today. I shall have to weigh the old one - it's not full yet but it's getting there. Most of it is change under £1 which is probably why it is filling up fast.

Weighed my tin this morning and it is 7lb. There is still plenty of room for more in the first one, but it felt almost full due to the weight of it.

I'm afraid life has been getting in the way of posting again. Poor DD is poorly again and I'm sure the stress of knowing they will both be made redundant next month isn't helping. I feel unable to do anything to help except offer words of support which are useless to pay the mortgage with :(

Anyway, £1.50 potted this week. I am trying to use change instead of £1 and 50p coins when I pay for something then pot the bigger coins if I can. Hopefully, it might boost my SPC total come November :)

Thinking of you Scotmum, hope things go well <<hugs>>

And a lovely welcome to all the new people!

  • Thank you little_sweetie for the lovely welcome :) well done on the amount potted, will be easier to count too!

I know what you mean westie983, I've only been doing it a couple of weeks and already I'm scrounging around in my bag looking for loose change! Went out last night and was looking around the car park pay station for some coins people may have dropped lol.

Got a bit of change to pot tonight, I cannot wait for this tin to be full so I can start another!

little_sweetie I hope your DD is on the mend soon, and one of them can find work - that must be so stressful for them :(

scotmumof3 I hope you get better news soon :(

    Potted 3 x £2 coins last night :T and only 1 x 20p :rotfl:

Hugs and good wishes to anyone poorly, hope you're on the mend soon.

Sorry to everyone who's going through a tough time right now, or is in pain. I hope it picks up soon and you can have some happier times.

In miraculous news, my husband VOLUNTEERED a £1 coin for my tin last night. He might actually be coming round to the concept of saving change to make a contribution to our savings. Normally, I let him know that i'm relieving him of his change which is met with an eye roll or similar. So that's £1 from last night and I'll need to raid my purse to see what I can offer for today. I know I definitely have change, just not sure how much.

  • Hope everybody is having a good day, just on a quick break from work. Had a few tips today and managed to get £4+ in my change from lunch! Also managed to get tomorrow off, so can enjoy an extra long weekend :D

  • Any amount soon adds up! You're doing brilliantly! £20 is a fab amount!

I know, it just doesn't feel like it because i've had 2 good months. I know i'm just being hard on myself. It's just, just as i built up a buffer in my bank account and everything was looking like it was going to work out i had a massive car bill to pay for and now i need to find all the money for Tax and Insurance too. Oh well. Life's not all about money i guess.

Perhaps he had a whole pocket full of change that he didn't want you to take so he thought giving you £1 may throw you off the scent...... haha

Since i've been feeling bad about my carp potting this month i have potted all the change from my purse so £9.28. Mackerel salad for dinner tonight...... I'd rather just curl up with a Chinese. I'll work out my total potted later and have a good push on potting for the next 2 days, maybe that will cheer me up.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello all,

I am sorry that I have been AWOL for such a long time, I have been quite ill the last few weeks but hopefully I am on the mend now! :)

I haven't been able to read though all of the posts so sending out lots of congratulations and safe squishy hugs where ok. I just wanted to say you have my support scotmumof3 sending lots of extra comfort your way to.

Also a big welcome to all of the newbies, it is great that you have joined. Be warned it is addictive! :)

It has been a bit tight this month as I have been saving a lot to make an extra payment to be debt free a month early and so that I am debt free before my birthday in May!

On potting news I have emptied my purse and potted around £1. Hopefully I will be potting more next month!
