  • Morning Everyone :)

Thanks Sue....I'm feeling better this morning and a bit nervous as I am starting my Psychiatric Placement as part of my Course...it means spending one day a Week for the next 20 Weeks inside a Psychiatric Unit....spending time with the Patients, spending time at the Ward Rounds and also co-facilitating a Music Therapy Group....should be really interesting but I'm a little nervous as well.....

I was just wondering Sue...have you heard from Sparky? I was just wondering how him and his Wife are getting on....hope they are both well and that his Wife is recovering from her Illness....and I hope Sparky can rejoin us soon....

Jakes-Mum....I've done that with regards to the Cash Machine and someone called me back to let me know, I was ever so grateful....I mean, you never know, that could have been the ONLY money she had for the Week and if another person had taken it she could have been in real trouble....so Well Done you!! :)

Right....I'd better go have some Brekkie and then get ready....Hope you ALL have a MARVELLOUS day!! xXx :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all.

    Daddybear85 - great result. Enjoy.

jakes-mum - my hubby did that in Asda last year. A young mum distracted and left a tenner at a s/scan till. He called her back and she was grateful.
I'm not too sure if he would have called her back if she left a bottle of whisky though. lol

2 x £1 coins potted. Little and often.
We were going to go for [STRIKE]another[/STRIKE] pub lunch today, but I'm not too sure if I can face it!! Perhaps tomorrow.

  • Evening all. welcome to NotNormal - by the sound of your username, you will fit right in here..... Its a great thread!! Have fun potting. I have potted £1.10 today which is great. Really happy with the way my pot is filling slowly but surely.

Well thank you very much, I hope I do (:
I am having lots of fun. I never had a money box as a child and I feel that I am possibly as excited as I would have been back then! I have decided that later this year I intend to invest in a slightly more expensive money box with some sort of plug (a bit like the piggy banks). So I have one to re-use, but also because I have a terrible habit of posting change without counting!

    - NotNormal - please note that instead of giving you the following No on the list I've given you No 088 I'm sure that member would have returned by now, and if she does, invent a new one. ;)BTW, you make perfect sense with all you've got planned your Christmas present spends, keep on the lookout!!

A lovely shiny gold star to you, scotmumof3, for a super welcome. Many thanks. Thanks also for the Parsnip Soup recipe, it sounds delicious, though oh I do feel awful for your poor DH, in a roundabout way!!
Anyone wishing to join, it's NEVER too late, so please just ask, you're more than welcome. :grinheart

I have updated my signature to include my number and approx saving so far. It should actually be more than that but I would rather under estimate than over estimate!

    Today I potted £3 in £1 coins.
Yesterday it was a £2 coin.

So £5 which was my aim for the week! Anything else I manage to add between now and Monday is a bonus :P

Last week I potted £2 in 50p pennies, £2 in 20p pennies and then a selection of 10p and 5p pennies which came to over £1 because I only remembered to count the last few I put in!

So I have set it at £10 saving and then I will have a nice surprise when I count it up and realise there are a few pennies more!

Is it bad that I just ordered my mother some mothers day stuff and the total was pounds and pennies and I found myself thinking I wish I could get those pennies out to add to my savings box!? Unfortunately it's online and you can't print coins! Never mind.

It's my birthday tomorrow! So my brother treated me to lunch yesterday while shopping. I have never really celebrated my birthday, so to make up for it my brother and father are giving me a bit of a birthday week. So far I have been treated to a dinner, lunch, given a bottle of vodka, my brother paid for my hair dye for me so I could look nice for my birthday and not feel bad about spending money! Feeling thoroughly spoiled!

Been behaving with my money too this week!
Bus fare was £8 for me and my brother, so the £2 went in the pot.
And I decided to treat myself to some goodies so I smell nice for my birthday. I had planned to spend around £20 in body shop. Went in and picked out a shower gel, body butter, lip balm and body mist that are all the same fragrance. It worked out at £20.55, so I was quite pleased to have not massively overspent. Well turns out there was a sale on! So it actually only cost £16.55! (The 55p went in the pot, the £4 has been set aside for bus far next Wednesday so I don't have to break a note) :D xxxx
No more making the same mistakes!

  • I just managed to buy 4 days worth of dinners for 2 people in Mr Spencer's for £30. When i say dinners i mean [STRIKE]huge[/STRIKE] good portions not normal people portions :o All i have left to get is broccoli because i refuse to pay £1.70 for it when the same thing is 49p in Mr M's. I know this isn't anything of an achievement for most but i can usually go in Mr M's for the same thing and spend £70 on who knows what.

Hope the OH likes what i've got. If not, i've have got 8 dinners for 1 hahaha!!

Potting £1.05 plus 4 very shiny £1 coins
