Thank you for all the lovely thoughts re the £20,everyone.
I try to remind myself about all the roadkill I have found, some of which would probably be enough to spoil the person who had lost it's day.At the time I really was distressed, though:it was my last job before the holidays,my heart was only half in it...
Then when I realised the money was gone, all I could think was that I must have been really wicked in my previous life.Since June last year our family crisis cost over £10,000 and 3 months of stress to put right,OH paid a £8000 tax bill (overpayment apparently, though I don't understand enough about it),our car needed £800 repairs after father-in-law punctured the oil tank of the Zafira last May,then the thing burst into flames last month and needs replacing anyway :eek:.And I am currently saving up another £1700 to put the crisis to bed once and for all!!!!
All this means that we can no longer afford to have the house extension that we had been saving up to pay for in cash (after paying about £6000 in architect fees, drawings, surveyers, applications, etc),and will be sleeping on the floor of our front room for the rest of forever!
I had it in my head that I deserved to catch a break .SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Poor miss Lily, hope she's soon on the mend
Oh, saver-upper, what a horrible thing to happen. My friend lost her purse on the bus last week. She had just drawn £50 for her shopping too. What a bummer....
I have received a cheque from MusicM*gpie for some unwanted CD's I sent them. It has taken 4 weeks to arrive but £8.56 is better than nothing and is being banked. I'll add it to my siggy, Sue-uu. Other than that a lovely £1 coin has found it's way into my potSealed Pot Challenge #012

Potted a £2 coin and a £1 coin. Little spends and another frugal shopping week ............................ hopefully.

Afternoon everyone, I hope you all had a really good weekend!! To those who are unwell, take care and here are special {{{hugs}}} for you all to get well soon! Take care, Potters, save your cash whenever you're able and enjoy the rest of your Monday.
Ok then, Lynsey, what did DH and yourself fix over the weekend? Should you feel guilty about eating out 3 times last week? Nah, it was another of your DH's Valentine's gifts! How about that then.
Westie983 wrote:Sue, I had my hip replaced last May with the subsequent months of work till January then I returned to work to be told at my follow up that I have trapped nerves in my scar tissue so I had to go back under the knife two weeks ago to see if I could save the sensitivity in my thigh, I went from 80% of my thigh numb, 20% very sensitive, to slowly the nerves have been "woken" up so now slowly the numbness is being replaced with sensitivity with the hope that they (nerves) will settle down and give the normal sensitivity I had pre op, so it's going to be a painful journey while the nerves are transitioning, there is a suggestion that it may cause too much of a sensitivity that they are over reactive in which my surgeon will have to cut the nerves and turn my whole leg numb!?!?! So it's just a waiting game, to see what the outcome will be.
Should know within around three months, so it's a grin and bare it situation.
Oh my gosh, Westie, you've certainly been through a heck of a lot over the last 8-9 months! I wish you well as you gradually get the nerves back to where they should be and hope that is indeed what happens. Please let us know how things progress. Best wishes for now and {{{hugs}}} for you.
Behave yourself, shangaijimmy!! So......have you managed to sneak those shiny 20p's out yet?!
Oh dear, just read your latest post and no joy. Ah well, better luck in future!AlwaysHappy wrote:Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend, whether its romance or raunch!!
I think you've come to the wrong thread, AlwaysHappy! Romance yes, but RAUNCH , yeah we do that n'all!!!! :rotfl: Have a lovely holiday and let yourself relax. I don't expect you can read this, but just in case, lap to all up.
I hated the countryside with a passion when we had to move there first of all, 32b3, but needs must and as DH was a farmer, what do you do aside from grin and bear it.I wouldn't change it for the world now and it's been a great place for the youngsters to grow up.
It was lovely to hear your Mum had a wonderful day, Kerry, no doubt you had the same at your Sisters, pretty much a double dose Birthday!
Ahhh, bless your DH making you a heart shaped chocolate cake, scotmumof3, a sign of true love for sure for a non-cooking hubby.
Lovely savings, katsta.....!
......you too, Saver, and it's good to see you.
I sincerely hope your problem soon sorts itself out, Helen, and thanks for considering the fellars! Not bad feedback about the film then, I was reading a German website at the weekend and apparently they're lapping it up, so to speak!
Excellent potting, Hope, you are doing well. :j
It's good to hear you enjoyed your meal, Frogletina, and saved the change.peatles wrote:Hi all, I'm still potting bits and bobs but not keeping a total else I'm sure I'll want to break into it!
Not been on for ages, as I teacher I tend tog et time to catch up in the holidays so happy half term to anyone else on holiday and happy potting!!!!
It's lovely to see you back, peatles, though on reading your post I can see dropping in regularly wouldn't be easy. Still, so long as you're saving regularly - top marks!
I tried to remind myself of all the roadkill that I have found since I started keeping track, including £5 and £10 notes. Not sure if that made me feel better or worse.......Hopefully someone who really needed it found it.
Whooohay, Saver-upper, what a fantastic find with the home-found cash, but I'm so sorry to hear about your £20 loss.Don't stop keeping an eye out. Hopefully you're right in your thoughts about someone really needy fining it - twasn't me, honest!! Reading your latest post, by eck you HAVE had it rough over the last year, all the best for 2015 and hopefully - a break. Meanwhile try these {{{hugs}}} for size.
Well done on striking before DH pocketed his cash again, Lynne!!! I hate dusty money. :j
Ahhh, so sorry to hear about your darling Lily, jakes-mum, poor girl. Still, that pain threshold will serve her well. I hope it won't be long before she's well again.
I'm so glad to hear about the Carers situation for your MIL, Rosy, all the best on getting so holiday time in now!little_sweetie wrote:I have received a cheque from MusicM*gpie for some unwanted CD's I sent them. Ok then, Lynsey, what did DH and yourself fix over the weekend?
We spent the whole weekend screwing....................
......................... but we did finally get all the shelves up.
We had a list of 10 DIY jobs that needed doing, so we got an ODD job man in.
He only did jobs 1,3,5,7 and 9.
Well you did ask for it. lol
Nothing more potted, but nothing spent.
On a plus side, the weather has been very, very mild and especially for the time of year.

ahh ty ladies, shes fine and is back up the hospital tomorrow for what I assume will be a full cast. Only downside is that one of the deep grazes to her finger seems to have attached itself to the sleeve thingy they put on your arm before the cast, so have got to make sure DH tells the fracture nurse for when she removes the temporary one as I don't want her ripping it off and re-opening the wound so we have the same problem with the second cast.SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000

Evening
Hope your Daughter gets on OK t the hospital tomorrow Jakes-Mum x
Sorry to hear you lost the money SaverUpper
You certainly don't find that many farms in London Sue!! There are a few, but they are not proper ones! Although the thought of being out of London for too long fills me with dread, I was talking to a friend about seeing stars in the sky, and it seems they have more stars in Norfolk than we have here and I like the thought of that. I don't think there is solution to that problem though!
56p potted today. I wish I had bought the normal sized tins form £land. the big one I bought is taking far too long to fill up.

Evening all, not had much success potting in the last few days - probably about 20p in dribs and drabs, hoping it improves following pay day.
Ooh Sue - wonder if it will be the 5th march (is it your special day)??. My youngest soon to be middle is 14th and hoping she is out way before then!!
I went to see the film of the moment last night and did wonder whether that would get things started but alas - nothing!Trying for a super saving year :j:
