Afternoon all.
Well done to the lottery winners. I must be due £25 at least!!
AlwaysHappy - I loved reading your post, in fact I read it several times to take it all in.
I bet both of your parents would have been (and have been) doubly proud of you. Not all have or have had that special relationship (for various reasons), but you certainly have.
It's a shame we can't just freeze everything at a time that's perfect (or almost perfect) and keep it. Life's not like that and we all have our times and it moves on to the next generation. Take care.
Just £1 coin potted, change after stockpiling black bags. No more needed until next year now!!
Car tax paid for the year!!

Afternoon everyone, I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend. What a bitter day again, but at least there's no wind so that's a blessing. Keep safe and healthy all, but to those who aren't...get well soon and have some {{{hugs}}} to help.
There you go see, mcjordi, I just knew you could do better if you tried!!katsta1 wrote:My target for this year is £500 got a Vegas trip booked saving loads anyway but pot will be for spends today I put in £8 change from a night out good luck to all welcome to all the new potters
I've changed your Target for you now, katsta1, all the best in reaching the £500 and jetting off to Vegas.Lynsey wrote:Sue, do you stock up 6 months - 12 months worth of toiletries etc??
I like to have a stash and stockpile with offers/promotions.
Got a few more packs of 9 toilet rolls today from Superdrug (buy one pack, get one pack half-price) - 18 rolls for £3.
They are ok at under 17p per roll and will do for the guests. :rotfl:
Had a nice drive around the coast and some amazing views of the waves smashing against the pier (Tynemouth). Plenty of watchers out today, but it is a fairly nice day, apart from the winds!!Lynsey wrote:It's a shame we can't just freeze everything at a time that's perfect (or almost perfect) and keep it. We don't stock-pile for that long, Lynsey, but usually plenty enough to last until the next offers come along. I'm always one to take advantage whenever possible! That trip out sounded exhilarating, I just love watching the waves crashing on rocks! BTW, to your post to AlwaysHappy, what a way to view it, wouldn't frozen times be some treasures to cherish eh.
I do hope your lass has a real good change of luck health-wise soon, Modesty, and that her job goes well.Well done on the £25 lottery win!! :j
chasingthedream wrote:Hi Sue, thank you for my number - yay feeling all official now! I have the 5th November on my calendar!!
I am due in a month - my third, eek so money saving is high on my agenda
You're welcome, chasingthedream, and it's good to know you're on the ball for the 5th! Not long until that little darling of yours arrives then, though I remember how slowly that last month goes. Please keep us in the loop as it gets closer!!!!! :j Brilliant work from your DS, another :money: in the making!!
Don't forget, Hoipolloi, if you get any offers on your on-line shopping...you can still pop the savings still go in your pot.
Very well saved, Anna!!shangaijimmy wrote:So monthly total for January finished at £7.29. Definitely please with that effort.
I'm so chuffed for you about your savings, shangaijimmy!! Stay focused and you'll be so proud in November.
So long as you're still saving, engineer Amy, don't worry too much about posting as it's potting that's most important!!!
Ahh, what a really lovely thing to do for you Mum, jakes-mum, well...and Dad by the sounds of it!!AlwaysHappy wrote:Had this week off work and been up North for Mums funeral which took place on Friday. It snowed on Thursday and I worried about that, and then cried for hours into the early hours of Friday morning, and had no idea how I would get through the day. Anyway, I woke up and felt very calm, the sun shone and I even managed to read the beautiful (though I say so myself) eulogy which I had written for my Mum. The years she dragged me to elocution and drama lessons certainly paid off!!! The day couldn't have gone better and I honestly feel Mum would have enjoyed the day and she would have been proud of me. I have grown a lot as a person in the past 6 weeks, and do you know what, I'm comfortable with the person I have become, and of course in the main that is due to the fabulous up bringing I had. So, I am still grieving for the huge loss, but, I am proud that I had such a lovely Mum (and Dad RIP for that matter) and I'm doing ok.
I have thrown all my loose change into my tin and look forward to sharing in the love and banter on here once again.
I'm really delighted that everything went so well for you, AlwaysHappy, but you probably did so well in having a really good cry in those hours before the day. You'll still get times like that, but always let the tears flow..it's natures way. It sounds as though your Mum was with you seeing you through the day, your Dad too as they always have done, they'll go on doing the same. Those we love and hold in our hearts never leave us. You've some wonderful memories to hold dear now, that tin too!
Superb savings with the lottery and your DS's lunch money, WantToBeSE, though I'm hoping he's a lot better now.I hope it's a great Monday, SPCers! :j Keep safe, VERY warm, healthy and saving!!

I am shamed to admit I have had a lack of potting going off other than random odds and sods when I remember, smack on the hand and must make an effort to put what I have saved each week food shopping in to the pot at the very least!!!!!!!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Forgot to say, had email from the lottery and I've won £25 so that will be potted when I get it out of the bank.
Me and my dad both won £25 on the lottery too!!
I need help. I have a spreadsheet tracking my loan but my bank account says i still owe them almost double what the sheet says. I know i have it right but i don't know how to prove it.
Has anyone been in this situation before???Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4
