  • afternoon everyone,

    hello any newbies.

keep plodding along all the poorly peeps, horrid seems everyone has this nasty cough /cold type bug. hopefully all will soon be well.

5p roadkill found today not much but all adds up, potted several pound coins over the last few weeks so fattening up nicely.

May be more to pot tonight. Off to the supermarket to stock up. We havent done a proper shop since christmas, just top up bits so we really need to go especially as there is the threat of snow this week. starting to look like mother hubbards cupboards.

    see you later

Afternoon, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying a lovely, though very cloudy day. Take care and keep well, but if you're not then have some {{{hugs}}} to help get you there. A little sad at the passing of Demis Roussos, oooh how I loved his voice. DH & I went to a concert of his way back, it was incredible!! :D Bon voyage Demis.

Thank you so much, cheexy, you're just too kind. :A

    Well spotted, Hoipolkoi.

Have you heard any more from your son, Lynne? Though I guess you know he is safe now and you're quite content in that knowledge. What a terrific blessing!

It's ok, Donna, you don't need to write your No on each individual post, I ask folk to pop Nos on their sigs, so we know who's who, especially at the end of the year when it's declaration day, it's vital! Well done on the £3 savings.

At least lean weeks are lean on the spends too, Lynsey! ;)

26p is good, scotmumof3, and btw, we had that soup for lunch - absolutely delicious!! Many thanks. :j

Good for you with the 82p, 32b3, but what is it that you're trying to catch up to....reading posts or with ££££s one wonders?

It's great to see you back yet again, Meowhouse, I thought you meant you had other techno problems but obviously you meant with logging in and that that is sorted now - Brilliant and so good to have you back to normal! (Good job I'm not talking to jakes-mum or I'd never know what normal was!!!:rotfl:)

So you should be feeling VERY pound, Helen - and fantastic work pays great dividends!! Sadly, the cold is due to that time of year, though also you may have got a bit het-up last week before the op and that might have pulled you down a bit so that you are more susceptible to cold and so forth. All the best in getting much better soon!

Have lost track of how much ive put in pot this weekend my lil girl loves putting money in the pot. Its almost filled already. (its not a small pot either). Once I fill it going to take money to bank change it up then put the notes in the next pot. If I keep this pace up a pot every 6 weeks Christmas and 2 holidays spending money should be sorted by summer lol.

Not to worry, Daddybear, it doesn't have to be exact it just helps encourage others with their savings. Well done to your little girl, it's wonderful to know she's being bought up in an MSE world. Good work for Daddybear!!! :T

Good morning, first time on for a week or two and have just seen the total amount potted by our members for 2014, that is an amazing total, well done everyone. I'm steadily potting away, holding pot still working nicely for me and I have dipped into it when I had to. I will have a nice tidy little sum to pot on Friday (payday for me) I do the grocery challenge on here and this month for the first time I have spent under budget so will be potting my surplus which should be about £21+!!!!. How do you get the stars from Sue? I keep seeing folk post them on their siggies and am getting star envy, need to pot more...need to pot more....catch up with you all soon x

Funny you should say about how to earn gold stars, cattysmum, because your good deed in letting others know about the "grocery challenge" and how to cut their budgets by sooo much has earned you your first gold star too! :staradmin Many thanks and splendid work on your £21 saved!!

Keep your eyes down, chickadee, you're doing very well so far.

Well done to everyone who's been potting! :D Although, does anyone else worry about the number of banknotes in their pot?

Personally, I don't worry too much about my notes, Miami, as they're fairly safe, but if you have any worries about yours then put them in a separate pot and bank them every week or month or so. You need to be happy and content with your savings so do what's best for you! :)

So, have you asked who's responsible for getting rid of your car, Saver-upper? Tis a wonder you haven't been told, but I think I'd ring the Police and ask them. Great savings!

Hello findingmyfeet and good to hear from you and how you're doing. 5p roadkill is good, especially when I haven't had any for yonks, so be quite chuffed with it.Good luck with more change later, old mother hubbard! :p

Enjoy your Tuesday, Potters! Stay safe, healthy and keep saving!!

    Sue x

    1p change potted yesterday

£2 coin and 75p change potted today - it should have been 95p but I've lost 20p. I put some change in my pocket this afternoon at the shops and then pulled out my gloves! :o I thought I'd picked it all up.

    Update:

Just found the missing 20p! So into the pot it goes.

Wow, my first star thanks Sue UU, I really feel part of the gang now and will endeavour to earn a few more before the year end. Did a morrisons match and more shop today, been busy today helping DD2 settle into her new home, curtains put up beds made up, and general sorting out, going round the house she moved from I found loads of loose change to the sum of £4.30, I was picking it up as I went along cleaning and sorting out different rooms, I presented it to her and she was stunned to find out how much it amounted to, however she promptly popped it into her purse and by now Im sure it is spent, would have gone streight in my pot had it been my money!!!
