Been thinking, I had the lofty idea I would add only notes or gold coloured coins, but I am not going to save that much or that often if I wait for spare ones of those. Have decided that I will save all loose coins and any notes I can afford to put in.

I feel better now I've made that decision.

I won't keep a running total for this but will post on here what I am adding each time.

Afternoon all, it was windier than I thought!! Still a nice bright winters day - apart from the winds which are increasing!!

    3 x £1 coins potted.

  • Had a great surprise yesterday. I complained about my increased account fee charges to my bank. All that constant reminders and urging from Martin and other MSEs are all not gone to waste on me. Didn't expect anything as there wasn't much at all to expect. But actually got refunded about £1565.75. Still in shock!!!

I would easily surpass the 2015 target if I pot the whole amount :D, but that is not in keeping with the true spirit of this challenge. So I am potting the £5.75 and the rest is going to other debts/overpayment.

Once again thank you to each one of you for your knowledge and time, whichever MSE boards you are contributing to. :T

  • Good Afternoon all :)
So I've decided to stay in all day to do my laundry and clean my room. Ended up finding £1.25 in 5p coins scattered around the house. Of course it went straight in the pot. Also found a few pennies.

I have a pretty good memory when it comes to my money so I place how much I've potted somewhere deep in my Mind Palace (Sherlock reference lol gotta love the cumberbatch) so unless I really search my mind, I won't know how much I have until November. Safest option for me I think as I have a terrible habit of somehow finding something that costs the exact amount in my tins and fool myself into thinking I need that item when really I just want to spend money. Need to get out of that habit.
Also a main reason why I bought a pot- it's so pretty!

Gold coins are such a rarity! I remember in November and December most of my change being £2 coins. Now I wonder if that's because all the potters have opened up their very full pots to help for Christmas.

Every time I do the weekly shop I always ask for my change in £2 coins but more recently a lot of shops say they don't have any £2 coins. Brings a wee smile to my face as I know it's most likely in somebody's precious pot :D
Ahhh I'm sure we'll find the precious gold soon

re £2 coins for potting. I love them too.

I find I get most of mine from the s/scan tills and find Sainsbury's and Morries the best.
