  • Well I had early birthday celebrations today as hubby will be away. I had some lovely presents from hubby and little man and some pennies from family. Unfortunately I can't pot the cheque so that will go in the bank. But I did pot £20 (2 x tenners) I don't have anything to spend it on at the mo, so I'd rather pot it than waste it. :D

Evening all just 20p in change potted for me today but it's better than nothing. My dad also gave me ten pounds to pay me back for an errand I ran for him the other day. I had totally forgotten about it so it's ten pounds extra I didn't know I had.
Think it will have to go into my holding pot until pay day just incase I need it but hopefully I won't.
Just remembered. I also cashed in a scratch card I got as a Christmas pressie. I won't be going far on my winnings.... £1! But it will go beautifully in my pot.
  • I have decided to put what I saved from NSD's working in my saving pots, I normally buy a bottle of coke at £1 and junk food at a £1 so over the two day £4 saved so it's going into my pot and usually I stupidly have to pay 60p each time to use my card so I have potted £5.20

A late potting tonight of £2.82 after popping in to Mr Ts on way home from visiting my niece in hospital. Poor soul is so fed up she asked me to take her some 'school work'.

Just realised I am at the end of my financial week.

I'm popping the unspent housekeeping money from last week into my holding pot which is £9.51. I'm not likely to spend much next week as I have loads of food in.

I've resolved the issue of how to analyse correctly the amount of housekeeping money I spend over this year. I'm budgeting separately for birthday/Christmas presents and all other sundry items will be paid for out of my housekeeping budget.

This means that in future I will only have one cash budget which I will be potting from, but if I buy anything at a reduced price (that I would have bought at full price) I will pot the difference as well as any cashback money etc.
