For 2015 my savings have been:

    January - £360.80
    February - -£7057.04
    March - £1031.44

I did pay off my remaining car loan in February though! So now I'm debt free and looking forward to seeing the savings average around the figure saved in March.

So from here, payday next week, I'm going to make a real effort to spend as little as I can that's not needed and finally be able to make some serious inroads into my savings challenge this year! I think I'll try and document my spending a bit more too, and any 'good work' on not spending, I'll put the money into my savings pot and register it here which should help with my discipline. :)
Have you tried the grocery challenge - I find it great for reining me in - it makes me look into the cupboard, rather than just spending out.

I haven't tried it, but I'll have a look and might give it a try.

    Thanks. :)

I am anxious for the new tax year to start so I can open my 2015-2016 stocks and shares isa and catch up with my savings target for the year so far. I have called a halt on investing for the rest of March as there is no point that I can see in investing outside an isa (already used this year's allowance) now and selling it in a week or so's time to put into next years' isa.

I also have new conservatory blinds to pay for and some payments for flights in September and prepaid hotels for our holiday and a couple of weekends away in April and May. We are also helping out our daughter with the cost of rewiring her new house so that is all going to bite into savings.

Good month again in March, getting quite lucky with stock options i received from my employer. Stock price keeps on going up with this financial bubble... Exercised a nice chunk and saved it: £9,350 this month.

I am getting my bonus next week, but will use a big part of that to pay off an outstanding loan - and become debt free ex mortgage.

Also decided to stop paying for a personal trainer (£50 a week); bought a couple of kettlebells, a yoga mat, and signed up for free youtube workout channels - all for a 1 time spend of £35. That should help save almost £2k for the balance of the year.

I hope i can stick to that...
    Total Debt
    12/2012 - £893k (mortgage and toys loans)
    11/2019 - £556k (mortgage only)

    Morning All

Beautiful day here and is also Payday :j

I am saving £700 for no 159 for March, please.

Redundancy is looming greater, I'm afraid, so I will be redoubling my efforts over the next few months to get as much money saved as possible.

    No more frittering for me...

    LB xx
