Yuck... when I failed to get anywhere near my target and its damage limitation for the last week but its tough to do... that's how I felt... Yuck.. and Ugh.
I am declaring 1484.75 this month towards my target. Afew things contributed to this:
1. My tenant failed to pay me on time, I have been in contact with her and she 'reassures' me before end of next week... I do charge interest on late payments so as long as she pays I don't mind.
2. Insurance - I paid 370 for insurance this year on my car. Its a little more but I wanted to help my folks out so paid abit towards theres too.
3. January is a long month! - seriously... its 5 weeks...
4. Hangover from Christmas - I have to admit I enjoyed Christmas a lot this year and didn't turn down a chance to do something... which I then put on my credit card...
5. January wasn't cheap either!... I wanted to have abit of fun this month and had to fill up my car 2 times more than usual which contributed about 115 more to the bill.
6. Charity - I decided I wanted to give to afew people I felt needed it more than I did... so did... around 100 quid.
So I don't really regret anything, I just need to get saving again hard.
Next month will be tough I suspect... but I am also buying my second btl flat! woohoo... I managed to negotiate a price of £115k from £130k which I feel is a good deal... so will ultimately be a long term cashflow generator... even if in the next few months my savings rate drops abit.My Goal: From 1st of Jan 2015 to 31st of December 2015 is to save 30000.
48.78% towards 2015 target.
105.3% towards 2014 target. :j0 -
Haven't updated as much as I should, but have managed to save another £500 last week (after a loan from parent was repaid to me) and £250 this week so up to £1,275 with another pay week to go in January.
Anticipated cashback didn't get paid in time, so this will still need to be added.Save £12k in 2019 #85 £1,500/£15,000 (10%)"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal" Henry Ford0 -
Another £125 transferred to savings account
(can't find smileys) Have updated spreadsheet. This maybe all I can manage this month.... need to play catch up and live frugally for a few days but pleased to be saving. I have finally decided to give up TV as I can rarely find something decent to watch. Phoned to cancel licence and am to receive £60 rebate. This will go into savings pot when it arrives in my bank account. I am surprised how many more hours I have to enjoy during the day and feel much more relaxed. My bank balance is feeling the benefits too... saved £12 this month already. Enjoy reading all your posts to see how you are all doing !

Now no longer 30.0 -
Well it certainly has been a long old month since I last got paid on 19th Dec . I finally get paid again on Tuesday but have managed to save £450 so far and hoping to add a little more before the month is out. I have really tried hard to keep the household spending down and I'm finding it motivating by reading everyone else's updates :j
Keep up the good work everyone

Payday has rolled around again.
£640 to cash savings, £202 to usual S&S ISA payments. Think we'll be lucky to get to £1k this month, a few direct debits to update etc. for unexpected bills.
Happy Friday all, :coffee: :bdaycake:0
