Well, kitty had her op, and it came in at slightly below the quote, so that's a mere dent of £398.

I shall still be able to save something this month, and grocery spend looks like it will come in under budget too, so cross fingers!

Just had notification that I will get a bonus of £250. Not sure what that will be after tax, but it should be useful.

I'm currently 'borrowing' from my second income to keep out of my overdraft and avoid huge charges on the account. I'd like to reduce the monthly 'borrowing' so my main account is swimming by itself, then I can switch the account to one which earns me more interest and bonuses. That extra money will help.
I've also got a £60 gift card I can use for emergencies, maybe to help with the shopping budget, or gift buying (family wedding coming up).

This is exciting... trouble is you have to wait to see the results. I haven't even finished accumulating debt yet, as we are halfway through a transfer of equity/mortgage pay-off deal to buy a friend out of the house, but I am so happy to know we will be managing this well.

Future saving coming up... my mobile phone has decided to start breaking. Very common problems for a Samsung Galaxy 3 of its age... and happily it's all paid for, so I can get a phone upgrade for much cheapness.

Having read the mobile phone-buying advice page, I realized I have been a bit of a sucker and over-paying for my mobile phone for ages. If I could, I would have got that superb sim-only deal from Virgin, but I didn't want to go down the route of hunting a second-hand phone, so I've gone back to my previous provider and got a new HTC 610, with all the same package except twice the data allowance - for pretty much half the price of what I'm paying now.

So, from March, I will be saving £23 per month :money:
Need to look after this one, so it is still working to handle going down to a sim only contract in a couple of years :)

I'm always surprised to learn some people continue to pay their council tax over 10 rather than 12 months. Perhaps people do it as a proxy saving method for the last month of the year.

We're not given any choice about it, the payment dates supplied by the council are set out over 10 months. It's the same for our water rates as well.
