    Hi

We had payday yesterday, and not had such a good month as we'd have liked as we had to buy a new bed for our little lad as he's going into a big boys bed

So #057 checking in with savings of £200 for January. Hopefully we will have a better month in February (& the rest of the year too)

    Thanks

    Rosie
  • Payday!

I've added a further £200 to savings today. £550 in total for January, pretty pleased with that!

We're not given any choice about it, the payment dates supplied by the council are set out over 10 months. It's the same for our water rates as well.

If you're in England, its been about 2 years since each council had to allow 12 months.

  • Payday for me was Thursday but not declaring until OH been paid too. Thursday's wage was my final wage and the plan is that all of it will be saved (as we are living off OHs salary until I get another job). £1250 so far put across to go into ISA.
  • Pay day for me yesterday. Despite it being January, and expecting for a lower amount, I've saved £1200 this last month :D

Payday yesterday so always good, but so is a payrise too - so hopefully this will contribute and help exceed my target by the end.

All in all, this month I can squirrel away £1048.83 and leaves some spare cash (non counted) to pay for my Summer Holiday (first in 3 years - so deserved in my book).

Not quite ready to declare January yet as there's still a few bits and bobs to turn up, but been having a review and going to keep my old car for another year at least and so i'm going to up my target from £18k to £24k. :D

Payday for me this week so I have put another £1000 in savings. I really wanted to put as much as I could in an Isa before the end of the tax year, so I have opened a 5 year fixed cash Isa so that I cannot touch the money :D

Time will tell if this is a good move, as I don't really have any emergency funds yet. Lets hope nothing unexpected crops up :o
