Hello, Happy 2015 to everyone :D

I'd like to start off my savings this year with £100.....not quite the amount I was after, but repairs to the house has consumed this months saving plan.

I've got some catching up to do but I do love a challenge

  • Hello, Happy 2015 everyone. Best of luck with saving this year.

I spent some time yesterday looking an money and have set aside leftover holiday funds (me and OH had to abandon our holiday a few days ago and come home as I was ill, and now he has it) and Christmas money. There is around £700 there which will be added to the pot for January.

Hope I'm not too late to join. Got to £4100/5000 last year but have work to do in my new house and go on maternity leave this year so things will be tight. However will try to save £3000. Really want to finish the house, take my maternity leave and finish paying off one cc then next year all our commission and bonuses will be saved. However I need to start the year by taking £1000 out of my savings from last year for a new staircase but we did also save £1600 between us on our company share scheme last year so it almost outweighs that. Fingers crossed we will get there!

£163.44 / £10,000 saved so far. More to come but I wanted to make a start. The journey begins with a little step... :)
  • How are people tracking their savings? Simply monitoring how much you put in to selected saving account(s)?

I'm not sure whether to continue to pay in to my Santander every day saver or move my current standing order to my ISA (which is currently empty!).
