My word, June was an expensive month. But as I'd put a budget aside for birthday presents and my main holiday (squirrelled away from previous months), I've managed £627 for July...phew! Hopefully July is a bit more manageable...0

Being retired does not mean being at home all day. All sorts of 'good causes' are in need of people with analytical and communications skills. Not just the obvious charities, but local initiatives to brighten the place up, to formal Community Interest Companies, all need people to run them. Once you've joined one, others follow.lisa110rry wrote: »If I were home all day I think my analytical and communications skills might reduce because I would spend a lot of time in my garden!Eco Miser

£3,500 transferred to savings today for July. Is it just me or is the middle of the year the time when everyone wants to spend money? Maybe a dip in motivation... anyway, I want to stay focussed, at the end of the year (hopefully) I will have enough in savings to clear my mortgage!!!! Must stay on course:) I hope everyone is dealing well with the heat and sticking to their goals!I'm trying to remember to pay my future self first!0

Happy to report we reached our target of 20k this month, we had 8k at the beginning of 2015. Hoping to save a further 4.5k by the end of the year.

Is it possible to drop my target to £8,500? I know this is slightly cheating to make sure I hit my target but unfortunately after working out how much I can save after expences I wouldn't be able to reach the current £10,000 target

My number is #228Saving for a house deposit :beer:0 -
Number 158 declaring £300 for June. Low amount but I had a last minute trip to Vegas at the start of this month so most of my savings went on paying that off/dollars.
Worth a penny though, what a place!!
Back to it now though
