-£730 for June as final balances for the wedding become due. The aim was to retain a balance of at least £20,000 in savings after all the wedding stuff is paid for. I'm well on track to achieve this as things stand. Expect July will be low figures and can get back on track in August.0

Hi All,
#226 declaring £1600 saved for June, sorry bit late, lost track of the dates.
I've submitted the form for June also. Not expecting many more, if any, months this high, suspect will be lower and at a more constant rate i hope but wont be complaining if they are as high as this month
Many thanks!

I know they might seem small amounts but am doing this slowly but surely to get the saving account looking healthier after moving into our first place. (used to be able to save much more when there was not so many bills)
£68 in savings is better than no savings or having a minus amount. After I bought my first house I was saving less than that each month. But I was just pleased to managing my budgets and was happy to be able to put any amount awAy.
Good luck and keep at it. It is so easy to say, 'that's only a small amount. I might as well spend it on... But it is surprising how fast it grows.Save 12K in 2026 no 16

I am still here. I'm not posting and not saving at the moment as I am buying out the equity in my property and have no extra spare money for saving right now. I messaged SF a month or so ago to confirm this so she knows. I should have caught up with myself by the end of October so will be back posting more regularly then.
In the meantime, keep saving all, you're doing great!

Just spent over £1,000 on car insurance
Plus my partner owes his uncle £180 that we really should pay back this month.
So annoying! Does anyone have the winning lottery numbers for Saturday0 -
Im really gutted, but I am a big fat minus for June. I am actually at £6,300, but am not going to change my sig, I will just make up the difference (mostly money owed) and hope I can get back on track by the end of the month. SF - I hope you are well. Good luck to everyone.
EDITED - I have updated my sig to show my real savings - boo hoo.0 -
After ChelseaBlue asked what one of the other posters was saving for (it was a house deposit), it started me thinking, what am I saving for? I guess I'm saving for the future in general, our home is paid for and my cars are what they are - elderly but reliable and exactly what I want to drive. I could say my pension, but who knows when I'll be able to retire and whether I'll want to when I can.
Most of all, I'm saving so that nothing can put me in debt if it goes wrong!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

That was me.
I started off saving for a house deposit, but the more I save, the more I value financial freedom as well. What if I decide not to buy a house, but instead emigrate, start a business etc? It helps to have a decent amount of money behind you for those things too.
