Reporting £547.48 for June which I'm happy with after a more careful few weeks! £1513.80 for the year, so just over 25% of the way there... not sure I'll make my £6000 target but I'm keeping it

Need to go to the garage in my lunch break and pay for the repairs that were recently done to my car.

    £270 :(

But I *think* I've decided that instead of paying it on my credit card and spending months paying it off at £50 a month Im just going to take the hit and pay it all now in June.

Is this the best way of doing it?

Personally I would take the savings hit and pay now, rather than have any risk of interest payments hitting you later on, I am very debt averse (any kind!) so that would be my course of action

Declaring £600 for June (form updated)

A very disappointing month compared to my usual savings

Had to spend £270 fixing my car

£90 having my carpets cleaned (carpets and children definitely don't mix!)

It was my sons 1st birthday so took him out for the day which cost £40 plus we had a family BBQ where food/drink/cake must of been about £150

Plus £100 extra on childcare for June as there's 5 weeks to pay for in June not 4

Onwards and hopefully upwards to July!

Thank you :-) yes I did take the hit and paid it off in full last week
  • What a June so far; I doubt I'm going to add much to my savings this month as I have accepted a new job which I will be starting next month; but I will also be moving in with my girlfriend so will be using some of my saving for a deposit.

All in all very hectic at the moment trying to get everything sorted in my current flat; hopefully will be able to start saving again next month.

    Hi everyone,

Good to see people doing so well :D I actually managed to hit my whole year target today so am really pleased. To be fair I was made redundant last month which is why, but am going to up my target to £12k for the year to give me something harder to aim for and keep me motivated!

SF - have filled in the spreadsheet thingy but must have ticked the wrong month last time I filled it in so have made a note in the further info bit :D
