Hello all,
Apologies for the lack of updates, just thought I would check in and glad to see so many people doing so well! It offers good encouragement.
I have had to dip into savings to fund a couple of purchases (including a new car :j) so my savings figures have been up and down, but unless my maths is a little off I think I am up about £8000 as my "end of May" number. This puts the current total for the year at £35 500, which would be higher if it weren't for a couple of unexpected purchases, but I suppose life is for living!
Best of luck to everyone for June.0 -

However I am at present saving in a stocks and shares isa but as this is not easily accessible and I will be changing my car next year I am changing from saving £1000 per month in the stocks and shares isa to just saving £500 per month and leaving £500 per month in my Santander 123 current account towards the new car. Do I leave my target at £12k still bearing in mind I will have it all in savings by the end of December albeit that £3500 will be earmarked to go towards a new car or should I reduce my target to £8500?
I definitely think this is still part of your savings target, as without saving the money you can't buy the car! Then when the car is bought it becomes an asset, so you aren't throwing the money away (albeit a depreciating asset, but an asset nonetheless!)0 -
Managed to put another £250 away this week and hope to get a little more put by at the end of the month. Oh how I enjoy saving money!2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0

Need to go to the garage in my lunch break and pay for the repairs that were recently done to my car.
£270
But I *think* I've decided that instead of paying it on my credit card and spending months paying it off at £50 a month Im just going to take the hit and pay it all now in June.
Is this the best way of doing it?0 -

Hi
Really sorry, but not been on here for a while. Not had anything to save to be honest
However, I think June will have been a much better month for us & I'll declare how much we've saved near the end.
So glad to get back in the savings habit
Everyone's doing really well well done! :T

Hi, I've now saved £2K which is double my target!!:T
I'm not sure why my target says £11K, it was only meant to be £1K as I'm on maternity leave :rotfl: lolThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
