Hi,
For this challenge, I am only including the money I am putting into this account, i'm not including any interest earned on other savings as doesn't seem right to me. So i've literally started this with £0 and i'm now putting money aside each month to meet my goal. I've not opened up a new account or anything just putting into a existing account I have and will work out the interest the money i have paid since staring this challenge and add it when i get interest which i think is end of December unless its changed.
I know everyone is different and some add interest from other accounts but for me, i wanted to do it from money i've earned starting from 0 and not suddently add 500 or 1000 pound interest from a ISA or other savings due to there being more money in that account as that kinda doesn't show a true representation of could i save my target in the year based purely on my income from the day i started.

I had to dip into my savings this month which brought down my savings to £3,300. I have actually managed to put away £1000 this month but this brings my total to £4,300 instead of £4,700 I was hoping for.
I'm still happy with my progress and on target but I will make up the loss next month!Saving for a house deposit :beer:0 -
I was planning to save 12k. But after bills, etc. I really can't afford it. But I have been saving between £50 - £70 a week for about five months . It's great how quickly it adds up.
I forgot how expensive driving lessons are, found an independent one which is a bit cheaper than some of the big companies.Ryan0 -
I have just sent off my update for May so now up to £5k
My monthly payment of £500 to my stocks and shares isa comes out of my Santander 123 account on the 20th monthly and I topped it up by a further £500 just now by debit card.
The stock market has been a little rocky over recent weeks since the election so hope I am doing the right thing forsaking the 3% in my Santander 123 for a potentially higher return in my Vanguard Lifestrategy Fund. I am what you call a nervous investor having only started this year.
We have a holiday to pay for next month so uncertain if we will make the full £1000 but we can make it up nearer the end of the year when my husband gets his annual bonus.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Saved £80.00 for May - better than nothing
Would have liked to have saved more but CC taking precedent for the next few months until it's paid off! (£500 to go). I have sent in my update form and will update my signature later.
I'm saving in the SPC too. Any money from that will go towards my savings when I empty the pot at the beginning of Nov.
Happy saving everyone!:staradmin Star from Sue-UU

Oh god yeah. This is really slowing down my progress. Can't wait to pass. My test was supposed to be this morning but the poor examiner was taken seriously ill and it was cancelled just before. Aaarrgh! £320 on lessons this month, lots of pre-test cramming. Not much saving this month..Mortgage overpayments 2018: £4602, 2019: £7870
