Having a much better month this month; my initial estimates are around £400 as long as nothing unexpected comes to the fore.
Just started my next bank switch as well; so hopefully will have a nice switching bonus to add on at some point next month (maybe the month after)# 047 'Save 12K in 2019' - £6,346.86 / £12,000 55.89%# 074 'Save 12K in 2015' - £4,379.25 / £4,000 109.48%0 -

First update for me - I remember signing up but forgot where the thread was, lol.
Current total is £5,900, although my savings are now going to go down to zero as we've decided to move so all spare funds are going towards that now - I might be able to resume later in the year once we've moved in and are getting the rental income from where we are now.Mortgage free for 5 months :T Then got another mortgage:rotfl:0 -
£850 going in - Had a few things to pay out for this month but managed to siphon off a decent amount! This keeps me on target for the 12k

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't been here lately - I haven't had access to a computer but I finally bought one last night.
So I have been made redundant (but found another job thankfully so don't need to use it to live off of)!
The pay out is with me now and I still have some debt to clear but wish to save my £5k as promised (and keep adding to the savings throughout the year as I feel like I have cheated by not saving and having it handed to me).
Can anyone recommend a good place to save my money in please? I will need access to it in about a years time.
Thanks in advance

Slowly fading, will you please add £182.50 to my savings for April? It never occurred to me that my ISA interest was 'saving'. I suppose this is more or less evenly saved from January to April, but that doesn't really matter as it's saved during the year. I can't use the spreadsheet at present as I'm confined to iPad...

Miss Thrifty, regarding car insurance, if you are a civil servant or retired from same, I strongly recommend Liverpool Victoria (L=V). They are not on comparison sites. My Sept 2002 4WD costs about £160 a year comprehensive with reserved NCB. The little 16 year old Merc SLK only costs £140 for same cover. (I like well made cars and don't care about their age.)“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
