WeegieWumman Looking for some new fleece pyjamas. Where did you get yours for £8? Looked at some in town yesterday but didn't get any. I think they are so cosy in the winter.

Hi Boddy, I got them in Primark. Have a look at their website. If you're after something flattering you'll be disappointed. I've reached the stage where I prefer comfort. :rotfl: Ensure that the trousers are fleece also, and not wincy.
Hope you find what you want.

We've had a lovely bright sunny day up here and the same forecast for tomorrow. Nice change!
  • Well, the rains have cleared - no cloud now & a definite chill in the air. It's going to be a cold few days & night now. Frosty every morning until about Wednesday next week.

I finally went to Tesco & just bought the essential bits I needed & a brisket joint, as I've not had one since last winter. It'll be going in the mini slow cooker first thing in the morning & will do for tomorrow night's tea & will go into sandwiches & salads for work lunches.
I also invested £8 in a pair of new kitchen slippers (stone floors are very cold, even in summer). They're lovely & toasty things & not slippy like the old ones.

I'll be making a trip to Primark tomorrow afternoon for some work clothes & socks, WeegieWumman you've reminded me to some more pyjamas too!

    Stay warm, everyone!

The gritting truck has just flew up my hill. It's on!

With the darker nights really drawing in I'm getting old fleece blankets on my girls' mattresses to keep them snug. They both have blankets to add to their duvets and we've added new pyjamas to next months clothes budget. Youngest DD has outgrown her dressing gown so I need to replace that as well.

I will be wearing my very long, very wide scarf in the house at all times. There's an unbelievable warmth when I do and I really must find a good shawl pattern to knit up a nice warm 100% wool one for next year.

I can't find my hard bottomed sheepskin slippers which is really annoying because I have not hi g to nip out to the bin in. Shoes by the back door for now and ever so tedious a solution.

WeegieWumman Thank you. I'm all for comfort too nowadays. Will be in town next week so will have a look.
  • I cannot find my car kit
  • Lovely & sunny today. Around 10c outside. Perfect opportunity to get some of my outdoors clothes handwashed & drip drying outside.
& To put the mattress & pillow protectors in the washing machine - enough dilly-dallying, off to do that now.
CBA to go clothes shopping in a dreary shopping centre, not when the sun is shining.

Heavy frost here this morning. I have spent all weekend doing outside farm jobs, which meant cold and wet Saturday, although my new ankle length mac kept the worst off and freezing yesterday in the icy wind. I had to come in to put my ski sallopets on. I think it is the first time they have been out this early! I'm not sure if it is because I have lost weight since last winter but I am definitely feeling the cold.

The oil still hasn't been delivered but we are managing with electric. It will just cost a fortune but hopefully not for long!

Eenymeeny, I used to use the slowcooker for that when I lived in my last place so will continue with that, especially at the moment as I'm off work sick, so it's great to have warming cheap lunches.

My DP is out today and I've thrown open all the windows and curtains to air the house. Just filled up the bird feeders too. Love sitting in the conservatory with a blanket and a hot chocolate watching the birds come by. Think it's going to be soup for lunch.

This weekend I went through jumpers and cardigans and realised most of my cardigans have holes, so I'll have to see what I can get hold of. I'm tricky as I'm allergic to wool and acrylic.

  • Its time for me to do the clothes changeover to winter, I`m not going to need my t shirts any more. I`ll keep the best and convert the others to dusters. I have already done the trousers. I wish it was sunny today, makes all the difference
