Best laugh I've had in a while on here
Of course, when DH wants you to go upstairs for him to give you a birthday present, insist you will come up to bed once the lamb hot pot has finished cooking.
In all seriousness, assuming he is of the same age, if the magic has gone at the age of 30, imagine the Tena lady gift set when you hit 400 -
My FIL always used to get my MIL a 'joke' christmas present....one year he got her a toilet brush:rotfl::rotfl:
But he always got her a really nice christmas present as well!
And yes OH has inherited his dad's sense of humour!0 -
Wow a lot of ungrateful posts on here!

It's not my DH that;s hopeless at buying presents, it's my MIL! Twice I've received a biscuit barrel and last year I got a toilet mat and matching bathroom rug. On Christmas Eve the mats are going to meet with a nasty accident, one that can't be rectified (I've already asked the Old'stylers for help on what can't be salvaged;)) but it won't be happening until after the shops close on Dec 24th, just in case someone nips out to get me a new one.:eek:its coming up to Christmas and I have learned now NOT to say I dislike/hate something. because for some reason that sticks in OHs head and THAT is what I get for Christmas. I cannot remember one single year he has got me something I actually liked. from the 'electric knife' to the truly awful 'Tweed' perfume - even if I tell him what I want - he says he prefers to surprise me so doesn't listen. for three years running he got me fake pearl necklaces - until my DD had a 'word' with him. I bluddy hate fake pearls! must have cost him all of £3.99!

Well, better than nothing at all which was what OH got me last birthday. When I asked why not he said he couldn't think of anything and then he got busy at work and forgot when it was. I was not impressed. I did think about getting myself my own present but it's not the same, is it?
If he'd bought me a slow cooker though I'd have made him take it straight back. Oh, I'm so picky!Val.0 -
I actually asked for a kettle last year to anyone who would listen, the year before, it was an electric can opener and a toaster.
I got them and was so chuffed.
I tend to ask to practical things I need with some material things I don't need but would like (generally books or a soft blanket/throw)
This year on my list is a new set of saucepans, some more baking trays and books...lots and lots of books. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
