    What!!!:eek::eek::eek:
    If my DH bought me a slow cooker for my birthday, any birthday, I'd be still telling people about it for years to come!!
    Look on the bright side, it could have been a geriatric shopping trolley :D

    I'm not fond of material gifts because there's little in life that I need that I can't buy. I love consumable gifts with some thought behind them, eg homemade goodies. A little consideration earns a lot of respect.

    I've been given a slow cooker as a present, and a bread maker, and an electric toothbrush, and a shredder....loved them all. Some people sound a bit ungrateful.
  • I asked for a breadmaker for christmas a couple of years ago. If someone bought me a slow cooker for my birthday Id be over the moon, shopping trolley ditto as Ive had my eye on one for ages and never got round to buying one.

    Well at least you now know what to buy him for Christmas:

    No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    its coming up to Christmas and I have learned now NOT to say I dislike/hate something. because for some reason that sticks in OHs head and THAT is what I get for Christmas. I cannot remember one single year he has got me something I actually liked. from the 'electric knife' to the truly awful 'Tweed' perfume - even if I tell him what I want - he says he prefers to surprise me so doesn't listen. for three years running he got me fake pearl necklaces - until my DD had a 'word' with him. I bluddy hate fake pearls! must have cost him all of £3.99!
  • You might get the same one on ebay a bit cheaper, my mum got this one from argos

    Ebay have a really good selection, couple of local shops sell them too in my area and home bargains sometimes have them as well, definitely going to get one, particularly as carrier bags now cost 5p.

    SLOW COOKER!!!!!

    Its my 30th tomorrow and I've been with my partner for 13 years. We have 2 kids. He took my oldest out the other day to get me a present and I've just found the receipt.

    He has bought me a box of milk tray from the kids and a SLOW COOKER!!!!!

    Yes I wanted one, but not for my bl**ody birthday!!!!!!

    Thing is the box doesn't look big enough for anything other than a single person one!!!!

    Milk Tray? I'm not surprised that you're cross.

    Tell him to go out and buy some decent chocolate immediately! :D

    Will check out eBay, ta. The one I'm eyeing up is £16 on amazon so think I'd be happy to pay that anyway. I end up driving to the supermarket just around the corner as I can't carry everything back, would be great to just walk there and back instead.
