My opinions on christmas and family - Christmas was nice when the kids were little. Now I don't speak to DS2 and hardly ever see DS1 I don't enjoy Christmas so much. I do however enjoy showing off my tree which is the best decorated tree I've ever seen in a house, even if I do say so myself :p We normally have dinner at MILs because my mum is miserable and can't be bothered making dinner for everyone, then again neither can I :D but I did do it for new year 3 years ago :D Last year DS1 was meant to join us for dinner at MILs but he didn't because he had a row with his girlfriend which I didn't find out about until next day as his phone was off, so I won't bother inviting him this year as he obviously isn't interested.

I do feel jealous of people who have loving caring families, but not in a nasty way, I just wish I could have that too :( Christmas used to be good when my Grandparents were alive as they were the only ones in my family who cared about me, apart from OH who they never got to meet because they died before I met him. The rest of my family are selfish and only out for themselves, never thinking about how their actions and words hurt me :(

I'm not being depressed again, just reflecting on how it is for me, I've accepted now that this is the way it is and just make the best of it  To anyone who is lucky enough to have good family who care, you should treasure every moment because you just never know how long you have left with those people. Don't take them for granted.

Id love to see a pic of your Christmas tree !

Before I realised his fetish, I kept blaming my Ex for the disappearing spongetex things I used to clean the bath with, I thought he was throwing them away.

LEJC think yourself lucky you are only getting balls and hats through the cat flap, my tom went on to bring live mice and birds.

Even managing to get a huge pigeon through the cat flap once. And he would have had to drag it up a flight of stairs as we lived in a first floor flat. And negotiate car flap bottom and top. :rotfl:

Oh my goodness she would freak if something actually moved,so I think theres no chance of anything live being bought in...the biggest she can cope with is a moth.

Ds1 was telling her last night to go find a turkey and some ham.
She seems really pleased with her haul...she has laid it out in the dining room and if we move it she puts it back in a similar order.

Happy to oblige :D This is from a couple years ago. I haven't put it up yet this year, I'll do it later if I have time otherwise it will be weekend. I have more decorations than this photo now so will post an updated picture when it's done :D

I know some people prefer fewer decorations so it may not be to everyone's taste but I love it :p
