Nelski - I aim to please  and will be posting all my mad creations on a daily basis... I posted up yesterday on the 50p thread about my pasta with onion and carrot (unbelievably good in spite of how awful it sounds) but I don't think anyone was too impressed.... :(

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

Good evening all :hello: or should I say night

well after getting up so early this morning I cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom before my shower :A all went down hill from there though as a friend of mine phoned and decided to rescue me :D her OH cooks the best curries - yum and we had a couple of naughty glasses of wine too while watching her 2 LO's playing hula hoop in the garden ( this was inbetween the rain 'showers' ) so as usual I am totally behind now but its only me and my DD that sees the mess so who cares

    Welcome to juliapenguin :hello:
    You go girl annie :j

Im just watching the end of Grays Anatomy - love that programme but missed the start

    Evening all

Baby names .... hmm ... dd got pregnant at the age of 14 and everyone was against her decision - including me - but I supported her. Then she decided that if it was a girl she was going to call it shaneece - I told her straight that i would not be fighting for
her right to keep her baby, battling with EWO's and social workers and school etc. just so she could lumber the poor thing with a daft name. Luckily she had a boy - Aiden - phew!

Well what a day - 10 armed officers came to court to arrest someone who was having his bail renewed - a bit overkill really but there you go. I sort of co-ordinated things and decided that yes, there definitely is something about a man in uniform espcially a very macho one with lots of gadgets and handcuffs and stuff

Then I had left my phone in my bag and checked it late in the afternoon to find six messages from middle dd in increased hysteria as dgs had been throwing up night and day and the doctors is closed on a thursday. rushed to hers - boss gave me alift which means I've left my bike outside work so fingers crossed it's ok. Dgs not well at all and can't keep anything down but calmed down enough for a quiet nana cuddle. I have put some credit on her phone so she can call nhs direct but he seems hopefully over the worst of the vomiting. I think dhiaroea (sp?) is around the corner though as he was doing some evil f*rts. She is keeping her 10yo sister with her for another night as dgs loves her so much and she can cuddle him while dd is washing and cleaning the accidents. I'm afraid I made my excuses and left after a bit as I don't do vomit - all the girls learned from a very early age that pretty much the best they could expect from me is encouraging words from the other side of the toilet door and a bucket of warm soapy water for the mess - bad mummy! I have celebrated dd's absence by having a lovely mackerel with new potatoes and salad. DD does not do fish unless it has "scab" (batter) around it - as in "I don't want the fish that swims in a river - I want scabby fish" or "Ooooh can I eat your scab if you don't want it?)

First veg box arrived today and was sadly exciting. We are trialling the mini box as there is only me and 10yo dd and we do have some stuff in the garden. I am hoping that it will encourage me to cook seasonally and maybe find some new recipes for 10yo veggie dd (she's hopeless as a veggie really as she doesn't like mushrooms, anything green or the kind of spices that brighten up pulses, will eat scabby fish and turns a blind eye to the gelatine in sweeties)

Anniestar - don't say nasty things to yourself - I am sure that in reality your inner beauty is shining out for all to see - would love to join you in a pamper mission though. Middle dd, who cares about such things, commented tonight that my legs are so hairy they look like a man's and has threatened to tie me down and epilate me slowly unless I sort it out tonight

    NIght all,

Had a great day, met a friend for lunch...his treat to celebrate my retirement and then visited a friend who is in hospital with problems in her 34 week old pregnancy...her third IVF try so naturally she is anxious, but she should be fine so long as she doesn't panic and stress herself out, they plan to do a c section at 37-38 weeks.

Have read whole thread but retained little...thinking of JackieO and Anniestar and poor Taplady...He'll be back I assure you and what does the colour of his hair matter in the meantime! Enjoy your solitude Mioliere! Hester, can we see what the aprons look like please.

    Welcome Juliapenguin.

Totally cream crackered from the day in town, not used to it anymore.

Hugs to all in need, especially those affected in anyway by the flooding.
