Afternoon friends, hope everyons is wel and dry today. Things here are ok. Like I said yesterday its made me do some long hard thinking. Yesterday morning was at an appointment with D(?:rotfl: )H. Anyway I had been doing a lot of thinking about things with bucket loads of help from you all(thank you) and had come to the conclusion that whatever happens its now got to be about ME.( please bear with me I know this is a bit mixed up.) So there I was in the loo one of the ones with a wash hand basin , full lenth mirror and very unforgiving light. So I really had a good look at myself and what I have become. I am old, worn out and fat. That is not a put down its what I have become. I actully feel positive about myself now(IFYSWIM). I have let myself become this. I have done this myself and it stops now. Isaw one of the mums whose daughter Iused to tutor about 2-3 weeks ago and she didn't recognise me, she just said she was daydreaming but I honestly understand now. So I am going to spend a bit of each day spending time on me. I have £185 on my Boots card that i have never spent as I had decided that somehow iwasn't worth it. Well I am! I will have to finish this later as DH is comming down hte stairs. But I am turning things arround and its all down to you. (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))JackieO, Scuzz Good luck to you both.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Hope everyones ok
Off to feed the Goth now!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Anniestar... come over to the Arms and have a look towards the end of the thread called "Waxing" (don't worry, it's not just about waxing!) I've just declared that I am going to be more high-maintenance from now on, to look better and feel better about myself
I know it's supposedly just superficial, but you sound like you could do with a boost what with all you're going through. ((hugs))

Anniestar - Treat yourself to some lovely pampering goodies from boots and enjoy!
Well we made it into town, was rainy and windy so didn't stay long, sun came out so we popped to the cliffs for a cup of tea in a lovely little tucked away cafe and just got home in time for the rain to start again!
Sitting here with hair dye oozing down my neck - how attractive! Nothing to drastic just trying to hide the shiny ones and even up the rest of it....what's the betting DH doesn't notice!
I've made a chickpea and chicken curry for tea - smells yummy, will do jacket potatoes to go with it as DH can't eat rice and DD2 isn't that keen on curry - I refuse to cook seperate meals now!
DH had a big bonus this month so we've paid it straight off debt, 17mths to go until we're debt free :j . Ebay stuff is doing well this week - made £30 on buy it nows and got another 7 items listed, bidding up to £14 so far - nothing of any value just stuff to get rid of.
Right - time's up - I'd better go rinse and see what damage I've done!
Have a great afternoon all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

They need to *push* the boundaries, feel they're a different species to mum and dad. Just be glad he's using daft outward symbols, there's a lot worse he could be doing!!! I found that the less shocked I was, the quicker the novelty wore off. But it did involve a lot of tongue biting and acting:cool:
Take care, CMxxYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Hello everyone
I've been reading this thread a lot but was always too shy to join in... I would love to come and chat, though, as I'm about to leave work (last day is Monday, counting down the minutes) because I've not been well with stress and anxiety. I can't claim any benefits, so we're going to be on a really, really tight budget.
I am so inspired by everything I read on this board as I feel a bit out on a limb - all my friends live miles away and none of them are OS!!!! I could do with a bit of moral support to keep me on the straight and narrow.
So, can I play please?????

Afternoon everyone. Well, I've been reorganising my office in honour of my new desk. Of course, I thought it would only take an hour or so and I've been at it for ages and still haven't finished. Still, I just know it's going to be easier to keep it organised (says she!).
The weather turned disgusting for most of the afternoon but now the sun is shining and the sky is blue and it looks completely different.
HARDUPHESTER - Re: French names - I was told that, until quite recently, the French had to pick their children's names from the names of the saints and, as there is a saint for every day of the year, that limited them to a choice of about 365 - divided between boys and girls names, it was quite restricting. They've relaxed that rule now but will not tolerate 'silly' names. I wish we could put a stop to it, here. You hear such ridiculous names and some parents don't consider what it must be like growing up with one. I think it's tied up with this awful 'celebrity' culture we have in the UK.
ANNIESTAR - you sound in need of some pampering. I bet you haven't put yourself first for ages. Take some 'me' time and treat yourself. I have just joined Curves and I find it makes me feel really good and positive after every visit. There may be one near you.
Well, only me for dinner tonight and I fancy an omelette so I'll get on with that in a mo. Then I might have an early bath and settle down to watch some television. I haven't watched any for ages - apart from the news. I'll do some knitting as well and then have an early night. The grandchildren are popping in tomorrow morning - they are going to Wales for a holiday on a farm so I won't see them for a week. Then I'll see what projects I feel like doing for the rest of the day.
Will call in later and see how everyone is.
Have a lovely evening.
