Good morning everyone
Dry here at the moment but as I have lots of washing to do, it won't last. Not sure if DS and DD are going up to Scotland yet but I should get everything washed just in case.
Need to get 2 birthday cards and an anniversary card before they go so they can deliver them when they are up there. So a visit to town is necessary - I have a couple of other jobs that need doing too so it I'm killing three or four birds with one stone.
Apart from that, I will be trying to get the house into some semblance of order as it looks like a bomb site at the moment. DS and DD's bedrooms are worst.
Dinner tonight is leftover chicken from yesterday's roast. Lunch is probably chicken sandwiches.
JackieO good luck for today.
scuzz fingers crossed for the new job. Enjoy your run today too.
(((hugs))) to all who need/want one. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning everyone!
Gosh, it's really muggy this morning!
<<hugs>> to anyone who would like one or who needs one. Good Luck to <<<JackieO>> for today xxx
No idea what I'm going to be doing to day. Need to check my email etc and sort myself out.

Morning all
Hugs to those in need today.
Cat - Wondered where you'd got to, DH has just finished the HP book - he was trying to tell me what happened but I was half asleep and ended up dreaming about it!!
It's not raining here - yet - very dark and ominous looking clouds though. DD's want to catch the bus into town, they've got pocket money burnng a hole in their pockets, hoping that it will start raining before their dressed and ready, not really in the mood for walking round endless shops in the rain looking at stuff they can't afford.
I watched the Top Gear thing last night - was very good, just can't belive they were allowed to drive to the north pole - the car did damage to the ice and as for chopping ice boulders with a chain saw, surely thats not on.
Rubber chicken and chick pea curry tonight, might try and get some more twinks made too - DD1 has a passion for them.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi all. Dull and wet here again for us too, must admit it's getting to be quite depressing.
Nice easy day for me today, like Hardup Hester I'm going to sew, sew, sew, and enjoy every minute.
Made a fabulous lasagne for dinner last night, big enough for eight people and made the stupid mistake of letting OH help himself as he was late home and I was snuggled up on the sofa with the cat when he turned up. He ate the lot. All of it.  And then complains about his tummy getting bigger.
Brekkie: crumpets
Lunch: mackerel pate, crispbreads and salad
Dinner: sausages and mash, onion gravy. Have given up on 'summer' food, I've reverted to comfort eating
Have a lovely day, everyone. Special hugs to JackieO and scuzz.

BIG HUGS to JackieO and good luck to scuzz
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's payday
And not before time! I've been positively haemorrhaging money this week - on Tuesday I even stayed out late and got a taxi home from Central London. Oh, and the other thing I did on Tuesday was ruin my favourite pair of shoes
I tripped over a step in them and ripped one up the side, and because of the design I've already been told by one cobbler that he won't be able to repair them
I would have taken them to a different cobbler, one who has undertaken various repairs for me in the past that others had told me "couldn't be done", but the place has gone out of business and it looks like my lovely shoes (which were only six months old, a total bargain, looked fab and went with absolutely everything) are ruined forever

I wore these shoes constantly so it wasn't until I wrecked them that I realised I had no other smart shoes in a decent state of repair! Cue a visit to the cobbler this morning with a MASSIVE carrier bag full of "stuff that needed new heels". And I think I might be popping over to the sale at Jones Bootmaker this week too. I haven't "done" the sales this summer yet, except for a pair of trousers I found in Next yesterday.
The money haemorrhage will continue to the end of this week due to the free dress rehearsal opera tickets I got given yesterday. Yes they were free, but I am still going to have to get there and back - it's at Glyndebourne - which will be about £15 for the train and £6 for the transfer bus, and also we will have to arrange food as it's a long show. I don't care, I was soooo desperate for tickets for this, and if I'd managed to get ordinary non-free tickets to one of the official performances, they would have been properly expensive. I still haven't confirmed which friend I am going with - luckily several of the "possibles" can't make it anyway, which narrows it down!
I'm just going to give up on this week  Who needs savings anyway

Today I need to do a decent day's work to make up for having had a day and a half out of the office in my busiest week of the month. Plus my boss is on hols - oh joy - which means I have to do some of his work as well. This evening I am going to a performance of The Magic Flute :j at the Barbican's Mostly Mozart festival. The ticket was paid for months ago, and the programme will be free... who knows... I might actually get through the day without spending too much money... oh yes, except for paying the cobbler
See you later
Love Rzl xx

Morning all ........................((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.
What a lousy morning, dull and wet again...looks like oh's bowls will be off, so will have to find something for supper.............oh well I did get 2 reducedprice quiches in Tesco last week, so I guess it will be one of them with new spuds and salad. Last night I did mince and dough balls, delicious...
Much better night last night, it did fall asleep on the settee whilst watching TV but only for about 15 minutes....................feel much better this morning.
Have to do a freezer inventory to sort out what I need from Tesco, hope the 5p off fuel is still on............I can just about fill the tank........we have not used much fuel this month, been using the bus to go to the library etc.....
Right OH has brought me a cuppa, so am going to drink that and then tackle the freezer, my meals list and shopping list............
We bought a sat nav before we went to France in May, it was great mostly, but did not like it when we deviated from the route it had given us down the M1, kept telling us to turn round and go back. Eventually it picked up where we were and what we were aiming for and then back on track. It also took us up a no through road in France, but that was my fault really.................its very useful.........trouble is it does not take any notice when you talk back to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Good Morning!!!

Don't know what the big grins about but maybe it will rub off on me. I've got the post holiday, post birthday blues and the kids are driving me up the walls. I realise that I'm pretty lucky really so I should just shake myself.
We are still on an economy drive and I have managed to tighten our belts. OH came home last night being suspiciously nice. Eventually at 10 o'clock he asked me how much money would be available to buy a new car. When I told him he confessed that he had spent £500 more than that at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. We're going to pick it up on Saturday.
I spent yesterday with the girl's in the bad books over their behaviour so I gutted the office with a view to turning it into a spare room again now I have the laptop and I organised a few bits for Ebay. Oh helped me to put some old paperwork in the loft but an old laptop that weighs a tonne came crashing out of the hatch. Where normal people may have stepped aside swiftly for fear of being maimed by a huge metal object carreering towards them Haribo decided to try to catch it.
Result: 2 staved fingers and one missing nail on my thumb. Coming up a lovely shade of purple this morning.
Tea tonight may be lightly casseroled newspaper as that is all we can now afford.
Take care.

I put half a pound on this week:eek: mainly due to my birthday celebrations earlier this week but am back on the SW plan in earnest now as I want to get to my Club10 target which means you have lost 10% of your body weight, have got 2 pounds to go I think so that is my target for this week!
Have got butternut squash soup cooking on the stove ATM and am having chicken and veggies for tea.
Hope you're all coping in this dreadful weather.
Take care xxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hello everyone!
There are some early risers around here!!
Clicked submit button by accident. Will write a bit more
I've not posted for a wee bit, mixture of being on holiday, working away and just getting out of the habit of coming here on a daily basis! So I hope everyone is well and hugs go out to those that need them.
I like looking here whilst I am work as it cheers me up, funny tales and feel good tales! Work has been utter poo this week so its keeping me going.
Weather is a bit rubbish here and quite cool. I actually feel cold today, strange for the middle of July.
Short and sweet from me, have a good day all!
xxx2010 is the year of bargain shopping! Time to money save, exercise and plan! I like to keep busy

Well, we called the driving school who were rude and abusive + said 'tough, the cheque has been cashed' but refused to prove it, so I've just asked for a warrant to be executed and emailed them the PDF. Now owed £724.34. Not gonna give up, tho!
Leave in a few to get to the Train, Have a good afternoon, guys!0
