Will try again for the activation thing, then I can watch for the £150 if it arrives.

It's such a pain. I've had my Activation Code since before xmas. Still waiting for my Access Code which they refuse to send by text.

    I'd give them a phone.

When I initially registered it insisted on sending out an activation code by post, which prompted an instant  response from me. So I called them up and the guy sorted it all out there and then and the text arrived seconds later.

Interestingly a code did turn up in the post eventually too - I think it was at least a fortnight later.

My switch just completed today too, so I need to get the £1000 in there now.

I tired again using my card details, and the code came through by text after about 8 mins, so I can view my account online now.

Is Yorkshire/Clydesdale Bank the worst in the UK? No prizes but has anyone actually encountered a worse one? Something to do with it being Australian owned perhaps? Maybe they're all upside down!

They are far from the worst - just old fashioned as the people who set things up in branch (such as myself) seem to have no real issues.

no. For example, no other bank offers £150 switching bonus right now. So on that measure they would be the best.....

no, they are essentially all the same. Each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

I have got 2 accounts with them so far, set up using their quaint and long-winded application process, as I don't live anywhere near one of their branches.

I would lie if I said I enjoyed the application process but I couldn't possibly call them the worst UK bank. They have been paying me 4% AER on £3K for a year now, and they will be paying me this for a little longer, followed by 2%, which is still 2% more than most other UK banks will be paying me....and then there is the £150 for switching just one account to them.

In summary....2 free Xmas feasts / or one free posh handbag / or 2 free pairs of great shoes / or a free return flight to the Canaries / or a fifth off a tooth implant......pick your own freebie, YB/CB can provide it if you have the nous.

C'mon Barclays, Virgin, Natwest, HSBC, Danske, Handelsbanken, BoS, Ulster, Harrods, Aldermore, Close Brothers, Citibank, RBS, Tesco, Santander and all you unnamed ones, do offer us a joining incentive. We know you can.

My switch was completed on 12/12 - 1k paid in 18th. So based your dates I should get the incentive within a week so.
