I know someone who applied 18th November, was approved and still hasn't got any paperwork despite ringing 4 times to request it.

That said, my switch completed 16 days after I signed the paperwork. I'm an existing customer though.

Ed-1, since you are an existing customer, could you please let us know how good or bad their customer service is?

I'm about to ditch First Direct. No particular reason, customer service has always been very good, but they don't have competitive saving products (other than their Regular Savings account, but that's about £86 a year), and I don't want to be involved with HSBC at all after recent revelations about their business practices.

So I got tempted by Clydesdale £150 switching offer, but I'd love to know from an already existing customer how good or bad they are at sorting things out should anything go wrong.

    Thanks.

You not going to keep with them. So far I have found them to be OK so will stay as my bills account until another incentive shows up. That's the last for me on the rounds.

I can't see NatWest, Lloyds or Barclays giving away £150 to join them any time soon.

No they are crap compared to my other accounts. Santander is my main account with lots of cash back.

Now having problems transferring it back out again!

Managed to transfer part but account now blocked and got VM from Fraud dept asking me to call in - yet giving a 0844 number that I can't use with my inclusive minutes.

I'm sure they must have loads paying money in and then withdrawing it, seems overkill to immediately refer.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

You need a security token to transfer more than £300 in a single payment online - you can order this via the administration section of internet banking.

    https://helpportal.eu.nabgroupdirect.com/system/selfservice.controller?CONFIGURATION=1026&PARTITION_ID=1&secureFlag=true&TIMEZONE_OFFSET=&CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=3364&CUST_PREV_CMD=null

You can transfer up to £1,000 a day without the token - via as many transactions as you like - although if they were to the same account the payments might be referred to their fraud team.

The token allows you to make payments of up to £15k online. But be careful when activating it - if you don't follow the onscreen activation process to the letter it will get corrupted and be unusable so you will need to order another one.

Its for your protection they would argue. HSBC have similar arrangements for logging in and new payees - albeit not for subsequent payments.
