Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching

Got on the phone 20 minutes ago to switch the account to get the £150 incentive, he needed to do a check to identify who I am. I provided him my name and address and he said the check got back fine...and then the line got disconnected.
I tried to phone again but they are closed at 8pm :wall: Does that mean they will post a letter to my house because the check is successful? Or do I need to phone them again in the morning? Just my luck! You will only fail to learn if you do not learn from failing.
Save 2015 - #097 £600/£7000

I suggest you ring back tomorrow.
Alternatively if you live near one go via a branch and start again (but book an appointment first) - it will save a lot of time (possibly shorten application process by 1-2 weeks?).0 -

Hang on to that optimismI'm losing the will
I won't bore everyone with the details again (in post 309 on previous page) but I'm now waiting for the 3rd Welcome Pack (or whatever it is called) to arrive.
This, I am assured, was issued today with guaranteed next day delivery. But then that's what I was told about 2nd Pack on 4th December .
It is only the prospect of receiving £150 sometime in the next decade which keeps me going
2 packs arrived yesterday (10th December after successful application 26th November)
The packs both have items missing, but notably the leaflet 'From You to Us', the T&C of the cash reward for switching, is missing from both packs .
On the positive side, I did get a call from the 4th (I think) call handler to check the pack had arrived.
I've selected a switch date of 23rd December - probably rather ambitious given my previous experiences0 -
It doesn't matter whether it's Yorkshire Bank or Clydesdale Bank - they're one and the same for the purposes of the £150 and the T&Cs are the same. The amended terms are (PDF still to be updated on YB site) that balances transferred as part of the switch now count towards the £1000 which doesn't have to be in a single payment and existing customers who have an account with either YB or CB where they have credited it with £1000 per month for the six months prior to 27th Nov now qualify if they open and switch to a new account opened after 27th Nov with either YB or CB.
Where does it say that exisiting customer are eligible for the switch offer? I've looked on both sites and at the T+C documents but they still say the same as before.0 -

No it doesn't. Before it said that you qualify if you are not an existing customer and open a new account or if you are an existing customer with an account that has been credited with an average of less than £1000 per month for the 6 months prior to 17th Nov.
Now it says that if you are an existing customer with such an account you can still qualify by opening a new account (condition 3(a)).0 -
So my account is now open.
Problem I have is that my switch completion date is not going to be within the 21 days of signing the switch agreement; as per the T&Cs.
I signed and sent the forms off on Day 1 (I'll refer to the dates as numbered days). I wrote 'ASAP' as the switch date and also dated the paperwork as Day 1.
Phoned them up a week later to be told that paperwork was received on Day 8 (day that I phoned them) and that the switch would proceed ASAP; but no date at that time.
Phone them earlier this afternoon only to be told that the switch was initiated today; meaning that my switch date would be on Day 24.
Will obviously put the £1000 in swiftly after the switch date and wait for 2 months.
If no incentive received I'll fire off a polite email to them.
God knows what will happen with my application ! I opened the account last month and have had the paperwork for a couple of weeks but not signed it and returned it yet. I read the T&Cs that the time limits only started after you had SIGNED the paperwork (which I haven't done yet).
I'm fairly sure that somewhere I have seen that the T&Cs have been updated so that the £1000 deposit doesn't have to be separate, if youhave £1000 in the account you are switching that will coulnt. Can't remember where I saw that - was I imaging it or has anyone else seen it ?ELITE 5:2
