    Hi everyone.

Me and the misses applied on the 23rd November, the following have happened:

    23/11/2014 - Applied on phone
26/11/2014 - My application form arrived
28/11/2014 - Sent back 1st class recorded delivery
29/11/2014 - Misses Application form arrived
02/12/2014 - Sent back 1st class recorded delivery
06/12/2014 - I get back a letter saying account is now open, but doesn't mention the switch at all.

Is this chronology in accordance with everyone elses?

Just nervous as we supposdly have 21 days for the switch to complete yet with snail mail and YBS delays, the 3 week point is now. On the application form I asked for a switch to occur on the 6th December.

Anyone else asked this question? 3 weeks to switch from opening is quite difficult.

Account opening and account switching are two entirely separate processes. And quite rightly so as you wouldn't want to switch to an account for which you don't have full online access (incl the card reader thingy in the case of YB/CB), a debit card and a PIN (even if it's only to get your £1,000 plus you £150 out of the account).

Having said this, it is surprising they haven't sent you information about switching in the welcome pack. But as you have to ring them about the switch anyway, just pick up the phone.

You have 31 days following your switch completion date to pay in your £1,000.

The card reader thingy ( it's like a larger version of pin machine machine that HSBC use and doesn't use any card) only allow payments of more than £1k per day, so not exactly essential for bonus baggers!

It takes them 10 days to send the paperwork and the idiots can't even pre-fill the forms despite having all information for this! They have even left 'Date Account Opened" box empty...

How do I know the switch date? ETA: they told me that I can fill it in as "ASAP" (or any date within 14 days from today)

This is the latest set http://www.cbonline.co.uk/resources/0956a153-3298-45a4-93e9-2d502d2bd3a4/CB-current-account-switch-offer-CB0816.pdf

Condition 1(b) has been removed completely and replaced with a condition 3 which opens the offer up to existing customers who open a new account.

The old version is still on the Yorkshire Bank website http://www.ybonline.co.uk/resources/1a4fedbe-4b63-4285-ad15-07d5e291130f/YB-current-account-switch-offer-YB0816.pdf but the text on the webpage now matches the text on the Clydesdale webpage so I assume the PDF will be replaced with the new one in due course.

So those of us currently on the 4% Current Account Direct with YB are now free to open an account with CB and switch for the bonus?

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but it has looked like a no-no until now so just looking for confirmation.

So my account is now open.

Problem I have is that my switch completion date is not going to be within the 21 days of signing the switch agreement; as per the T&Cs.

I signed and sent the forms off on Day 1 (I'll refer to the dates as numbered days). I wrote 'ASAP' as the switch date and also dated the paperwork as Day 1.

Phoned them up a week later to be told that paperwork was received on Day 8 (day that I phoned them) and that the switch would proceed ASAP; but no date at that time.

Phone them earlier this afternoon only to be told that the switch was initiated today; meaning that my switch date would be on Day 24.

Will obviously put the £1000 in swiftly after the switch date and wait for 2 months.

If no incentive received I'll fire off a polite email to them.

Would it not make sense to date the switch agreement five days in advance to allow for delays in processing etc?

Sign the current account switch agreement by the 28/2/15 and completed within 21 days.

I don't get why eligibility depends on how fast they process the switch? It's entirely outside the control of the customer?
