I shall watch that space!
I applied over the phone and after a tense few seconds, she confirmed that the account qualified for a switch. I too had read posts saying they weren't always accepting a Nationwide account.0 -
Got my debit card in todays post
I will deposit the £1000, and then fingers crossed!I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

Forms returned as they said they couldn't verify identity ! The Isa's I am wanting to transfer has been with another provider for 12 years, banked with the same bank for 30 years, credit cards etc, never in debt, lived at same address for 35 years, just don't know why they cannot identify, I don't even wear a burka !
When I applied for that account and requested a transfer it took over 2 weeks to sort out. It was done electronically - so the day it eventually leaves your current provider is when it hits CB/YB.
I then got three separate letters on the same day - one confirming they were appying for the transfer, a second confirming the transfer had occurred and the third confirming that the account was opened with the transfer amount. With other transfers I have had just one letter at the end.
Still 2% for 40 days notice only on an ISA isn't bad! You would have to invest for 2 years fixed to get that rate elsewhere.
I would hate to see their postage bill!:D:D0 -
Can you transfer an account you're overdrawn with? Or does it have to be in credit even though you have 1,000 to put in?0

I ordered my security token which is used to protect against online fraud.
Surprisingly ordered it yesterday and it was here today...0 -

But it is variable so can be dropped to next to nothing quite quickly, albeit they will give 2 months notice of intention to do so.

It is a debit Mastercard unless you choose the basic account or have a low credit score. Not that I'm actually planning on using my card, but is it true that Maestro has worse protection than Visa and may not be usable as widely abroad? Is there any conceivable situation in which it would be an advantage to use Maestro? I had just assumed it would be Visa (as per my other n accounts). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
