Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching

If you've ever had a debit card on the account you're switching, you'll need the card number before you can switch to a new account using CASS.
You could apply for a new card
Not really sure what CASS is?
TBH, I don't remember if there ever was a card for the account, I am just assuming there was, not really sure how to check if there was one already.
I like your idea though of requesting a new one.
Unfortunately I had hoped to use a second account that I can't find the card for to switch before the end of tomorrow to M&S as they have an extra £25 on the gift card until the end of tomorrow.
I guess one option could be to do the application now and apply for a new card, then hopefully the new card will have come through before I need to send the paperwork back for that account meaning I can put the card info on the forms.
The YB one doesn't need to be such a rush.0 -

Clue: The account must be applied for (and opened) by close of business tomorrow, but...Question for you: How long do they give you to complete the switch? (answer in the incentive T&Cs)
BTW, CASS is the Current Account Switch Service0 -

Yes – to be clear you need to have applied and passed their ID checks (i.e. M&S account approved for opening) by the end of tomorrow to get the £125 gift card. You get this via applying through the Moneysavingexpert or Moneysupermarket links – otherwise if you go direct to the M&S site you would only get a £100 gift card. A lot of people fail to get ID checked by M&S on their initial application – including me – so don’t waste time and apply today if you are desperate for the extra £25.
As Yorkshire boy puts in subtlely in his Yorkshire way:D the terms state you have up to six months to switch to get the gift card. So the urgency is to apply for the M&S account for the extra £25 by tomorrow – forget about your debit card for the donor account as you don’t need it yet.
Ps I was not aware that the M&S £100 standard switch incentive was ending tomorrow – merely the MSE/MS £25 top up offer.0 -
Thanks both of you for that really useful information and apologise for taking this YB/CB thread off on a tangent!
I hadn't thought about it as you have suggested in that the account only need be opened before the end of tomorrow and then I have much longer to do the actual switch - that takes the pressure off with regards to the card.
I don't think the £100 switch offer ends tomorrow on M&S Bank just the £25 MSE top up. sorry if I was misleading in what I said (or if in fact it does all end tomorrow, but I don't think that is the case.)
Very helpful on here as ever!0 -

I'll help anyone (you know that), but I much prefer to share the workload.0 -

Yes I agree – but we were novices once too!
And mistakes are easily made e.g. the fatal error of paying in your £1,000 to YB/CB before the switch happens……
PS Here is a direct link to the MSE/MS M&S £125 offer terms for those interested – once you get past the initial online application I would recommend doing the rest in branch if you can (as permitted in the offer). The branch in their Marble Arch store is lovely and quiet – with a nice plush seating area. You can even switch one of your CB/YB accounts – assuming you have had all your £150s!

Yes – corrected!:D
Perhaps their error is putting the branch on the 3rd floor – I think I saw only 3 other customers in the 45 minutes I was there.0 -
To bring it back to YB/CB, I opened an account on the phone a week ago, phoned them today to chase up the paperwork, turns out they never sent it!
Of course, the cynical part of me would wonder if this is to delay things sufficiently that I end up not being eligible for the £150...0 -

With all the switching going on for the previous offer I'm surprised they have any switching forms left.0
