Incentive: switches made on 25/2/15; £1,000 deposited on 2/3/15, and incentive paid out this afternoon (1/4/15). So that's 35 days after switch. Spot on.

Thanks to all who bother to post about these things. Am very grateful.

That, and this time next year each account will have £1.02 in it. Boom!

Keeping it open in case I need to put any overflow from all my other accounts as I always keep only the maximum amount which pays credit in each account. Already put a couple of grand in to pay for credit card bill end of month.

It's not the best interface but always works fine.

I really only use it for future dated payments as their Android App does most other things I need - (the app) is simple in a good way :)
Yes, same thing with YB. Hopeless and exasperating. Just waiting for more incentives to pay out (today, I hope) and will then get shot of them.

Does anyone know if previous Yorkshire Direct Current Account holders who have been paying £1000/month into their accounts for the 4% are still exempt from the £150 switch incentive. I can't see anything in the t&cs now that state this, however it did use to be in there. I rang the Yorkshire Bank a few days ago and after much deliberation I was told I couldn't switch my COOP account and get the incentive as I'd previously been paying the £1000/month to my existing York Direct Account. But is this definitely still right or did I speak to an ill informed advisor?

Slight (pedantic?) problem with the app is that it says that the no more than half of the 6 digit pass code can be the same, but rejects 3 out of 6.

Also realised yesterday that DDs can't be viewed which would have been useful.

I think you've missed your chance. When the offer first launched you were excluded, then they changed the terms and you could have exploited the offer many times over - if you applied before 28th February. Now you're excluded again. (and so am I)

ETA: Above may be wrong (see post 1919 below) but I'm still excluded 'cos I've already had the incentive.

You'd have to read this whole thread for the full chronology.

Thanks for your reply. I've had a read through about the last 20 pages of this thread to look for an answer. However reading the Yorkshire Banks full terms and conditions for the switch incentive, I can't see mentioned that previous Yorkshire Bank Direct Account holders who've been paying £1000/month in, are now excluded from the incentive. Think I'll have to re contact them for clarification.

Looking at the Terms and Conditions I think you will be eligible for the incentive.

The exemption I can see is: You do not qualify for this offer if you have already received or are about to receive £150 for switching to a Clydesdale.

It does not say anywhere that customer already paying 1k into the account are not eligible.

My 16 year old DS would like to open an adult account and The Yorkshire Bank minimum age is 16. He has a Halifax Save4it and a Halifax Cardcash account. If he sets up 2 of my direct debits on one of these accounts do you think they would be accepted for a Switch by YB.

Or can anybody think of any direct debits that he can set up to qualify?

Teach about giving as well as taking and just set up DDs with a couple of charities if he can't get savings accounts. ;)

Yes - one poster on here has been a current account customer for 20 years with Yorkshire bank.

Under the original November terms he was ineligible, then under the terms available until 28 Feb he opened 10+ accounts (and got 10 £150s). But existing long term current account customers paying in over £1k a month are now ineligible again under the new terms if they pay in more than £1k even if they haven't got a £150 under the revised terms up to 28 Feb.
