Yorkshire & Clydesdale Banks offering £150 for switching
Comments

Hi guys,
I applied to switch two of my accounts back in Feb and both switch documents were sent back together before the first £150 offer ended.
The problem is they have only switched one of my accounts. I finally got through to the switch team today, (every other time I called they were 'too busy').
Apparently they have only received one application despite both being sent back together, in the same envelope.
In fact they appeared to claim there was no evidence of a second switch during the telephone application I made with them back in Feb.
Any advice?0 -
Grateful if people could continue to post number of days from £1000 pay-in to incentive.
Still nothing for me.....
Is the average still about 33-35 days? If so, looks like OH was VERY lucky with 18 days.....0 -
I got my 2nd incentive paid on Tuesday after 35 days so still around that mark. First was after 36 days.0

Can anyone help with the need for 2 Active direct debits for switching? I've got two DDs now set up but nothing has been taken. Do they qualify? I've looked through the T&Cs but it doesn't clear up what is meant by active?0

In short, if you can see the DD instruction set up in the online area of your donor account it'll qualify.
That said, I always let mine pay out once...for belt and braces, although not necessary.0 -

Some companies as you say as quicker than others to submit new DD requests. Tesco savings are quick and several firms (e.g. Sky) allow you to update your direct debit details online.
A good example of an active DD that might not apply each month is one set up to pay the minimum payment on your credit card - if you pay the balance in full before the direct debit date they don't take the payment but the DD remains active.
I have those for all my credit cards - just in case to avoid late payment fees - but they aren't usually needed.
I just had a more general query on YB/CB - I have noticed that for all my new accounts (not as many as some posters!) two identical searches/alerts appear for each account opening on my Noddle/Callcredit file.
Maybe its just me - but why two when only one should do per account. This doesn't happen with any other bank?
Not a major issue - but its just a tad annoying as clearly you don't want to have more credit searches than are required.0 -
Thanks YorkshireBoy, they are both showing on Internet banking so that should be okay for switching. It is a bit confusing what they mean by active DDs because you could potentially have some which paid out months ago but others which are ready to be pulled the first time. Hopefully I can get the incentive!
MartyM8 - could it be because it was a a telephone application? I seem to remember reading that they might do multiple checks?0 -
A couple of reports that YB/CB are now asking for bank statements in order to proceed with a switch...

In the early days of the offer in November they were being strict in some cases with branch and even phone applications - some people in branches were being asked for proof salaries were being paid in and bank statements (not all but some).
I remember ringing up my local branch about a second account - and the receptionist was very abrupt (i.e. why do you need two?).
And then they revised the terms and the floodgates opened - 10 or 20 accounts fine!
So maybe it was just an officious branch banking person asking for this - or alternatively like First Trust they want genuine switchers now if they are going to pay out £150! Would be nice to see how much this exercise has cost them - albeit small beer compared to NAB's multi billion profits last year.0 -
