If the guy/gal only opened one account they will definitely pay out especially as they are still looking for business.

If has multiple accounts will definitely NOT get the incentive!:)

    How do I know?

    I don't.:rotfl:

Terms and conditions are effectively legal contracts in a sense - if you comply they have to comply if you don't nor do they.

They may feel generous - but only if they believe you are going to be a genuine customer i.e. you have made some transactions bar just paying in £1k and withdrawing it the next day. Because they want people to stay with them so they can sell mortgages/ISAs/credit cards/savings etc etc

Wonder if I can use the existing account to instigate another switch if they don't budge on this.

I've put £1,000 in my donor switch account ready for the switch on Friday.

That way I can't put the £1,000 in too early and couldn't put the money in any earlier to qualify for the £150 incentive.

Then it's a 33 day wait for the incentive to be paid out it seems!;)

I opened my Direct account in branch on 27 Feb and deposited £3k in on 02 Mar before the switch date of 11 Mar today. If I now deposit a further £1k in tomorrow(well within the 31 days), then surely I have complied with the conditions as technically it does not say you can't deposit before the switch date, just that you have to deposit £1k after the switch date within 31 days which was always my intention. At no time during the account set up did the advisor refer me to any written T&C'S regarding the incentive payment.
    Fingers crossed I am eligible.

That's what I did for 6 of my switches which went ahead on the 10th of March. Having seen the posts about funding "too early" and rechecking the TOC I am now wondering if funding the £1K via the switched account actually strictly complies with the "following the switch" clause.

I seem to remember somebody (maybe a forum poster or an actual YB bod) saying that this would be OK, but it's not actually explicit in the TOC I was given. I'm therefore wondering if I would be best to chuck another £1k in the accounts just to be safe. It would still be within the 31 days. I'd hate to scupper the £900 because of a technicality. Obviously I'd whip the extra payment out again virtually straight away. Any thoughts?

You are right that the T&C doesn't clarify this point, however....the Your New Account is Up and Running letter arrived with another letter addressed to me '£150 from us to you', and paragraph two says and I quote re the £1,000:

'This credit can include the balance of the account you are switching but excludes internal transfers...'

Also says, 'the £1,000 can consist of one single payment or a number of smaller credits'.

However as I believe in idiot proofing I will also deposit a further £1,000 within the 31 days just to make sure sure sure!;)

Can I check, I assume depositing the £1000 is enough, you don't have to keep it there and can remove it the next day?
