    Hi,

I have just received a letter today telling me that

Well I have done no such thing and the other two switches are still seemingly going ahead.

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just phone them up on Monday when the lines open and ask them !!!!!! they are doing as I am now worried I will miss out on the £150 switch bonus on the account.

I have to say my experiences of them has been poor, first of all they lost some of the pages I signed so had to print, sign and scan them back to them, then they never got back to me telling me they had got them until I chased them on 2 occassions.

All in all quite annoyed with them, but really don't want to miss out on the switch bonus on this switch they have seemingly cancelled off their own back.

I guess if I don't get it I could take the complaint further.

Clearly they have made a mistake - which is not impossible given the huge volumes they are processing - so let them know and get the switch back on.

I get so many letters from YB that I am starting to worry about how many rain forests are being destroyed by all their paperwork:D - and you are required to have paper statements sent by post too (no online options) so it doesn't end when the account is open. I think my record one day was getting 5 items of post from them!

We will see on Monday if the incentive offer is re-opened - as was predicted last week.

Think that is the first course of action. I will not be happy if I don't get the switching bonus.

Can anyone tell me which day of the month interest is paid on the YB - Current Account Direct?

I have looked on their website and in the T&C's and have been unable to find out.

I had the same letter. One telling me the switch had taken place and one telling me it had been cancelled! I rang up and they assured me it was just an admin error and everything was going through as planned. :)

Though I think I always got it on the last calendar day.

From the "interest rates and fees" document...
Credit interest is calculated on the cleared credit balance on a daily basis and credited to accounts on the last business day of each month.

So for February it was paid on Friday 27th (actually, early hours of Saturday 28th after their batch run).

I saw your original post and checked online to confirm. Mine is dated 27th Feb, and was definitely there Saturday morning, 28th. :)

I have been in touch with them today and after about 30 mins on the phone I was eventually told they had made an error when inputting that switch and basically ticked the wrong box. It is all back on track to switch and should not effect the bonus.

Oh and I used the free 0800 number rather than the 0844 number they ask you to call on the letter and was mentioned recently on this thread.

    No harm done.

No sign yet I see of the switch incentive offer being reopened today – as was rumoured.

Perhaps they have all the current account customers they now want/need?!
