    I actually want to open:

1 x Current Account Direct (as I want the 2% interest offer) - for everyday spending and to have my wages paid into
2 x Current Account Readycash - For bills
In your shoes I'd apply for a Plus instead of Readycash, my reasoning being that if ever they remove the "one Direct per customer" rule it might be far easier to upgrade a full feature account than a basic bank account.

I could be wrong of course, but what have you to lose?

Thanks for that - I just thought with the Readycash account as it doesn't have an overdraft facility it would have less impact on my credit rating.

Quite likely I am talking rubbish. If so I will do what you suggest and go for the Plus.

  • Hi there I dont have any dormant accounts, so I opened a new one deposited £1000 in it a week ago, and now intend to use this for the switch, would this still be allowed? Thanks,

Yes, provided you've received the debit card (if one was taken).

Why would you think it possibly wouldn't be allowed?

    Maybe its just my imagination but the advert on the website for the offer seems to have been changed slightly. Before I am certain it said 'Offer ends 28/2/15' - now it says 'Above offer ends 28/2/15;

    http://www.ybonline.co.uk/personal/current-accounts/

Clearly they are going to have to amend the ad again by 1 March - but does this imply the March switch offer (if there indeed is one) may be different (e.g. different incentive or terms)?

We shall no doubt find out in about a week!

    Not your imagination!

Both CB and YB now refer to the 'above offer' when they previously just said 'offer' (I've checked screenshots from December).

Which does, as you say, suggest they may be changing the offer in some way after 28/2/15.

Opened joint number 2 and single number 2 today. No grilling at all. Quite laid back and straightforward. Took a lot of details across from previous application and just checked it with me.

Opened single number 11 (5 CB and 6 YB) today. No grilling at all. Quite laid back and straightforward. Took a lot of details across from previous application and just checked it with me.

Unfortunately a 'refer'. Will chase them next week.

Pretty sure that CB can only see your CB a/c, and YB only the YB ones.

    Further credit search was done
