PS It seems they are regularly referring people for their 4th account opening onwards (i.e. after 3) - and getting stricter about wanting sources of income. Is that anyone's recent experience - or does it just depend on who you speak to!I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
The advisor I spoke with was quite coy about the offer being extended saying, " we hope it will be because its such a good offer".
Wonder if they have a quota to fill and then the offer closes as they state that the offer can be withdrawn at any time after which it will only be the return of a signed application form that qualifies for the incentive.0 -
The CSA I spoke with today said no final decisions had been made on extending the offer but their manager had mentioned it was 'being considered'.0

I've opened 8 and non referred...2 of which was yesterday on the same call.0

Just got through immediately on 0800 number and successfully opened a Current Account Plus to add to the Direct which was a PITA to open due to YB delays and missing paperwork:(.
I don't have the guts to open any more at the moment and unless the incentive deadline is extended, there won't be much point as I'm out of UK for 3 weeks from Tuesday.
Discovered I share a birthday with the very pleasant YB CS lad, with about a 40 year gap at a guess. He's going to Milan to celebrate - I'm off to Hong Kong :j

Again the wording is very vague - if you are sending it back by post how do they know when you 'signed' the agreement?
"We may withdraw this offer at any time. If we do withdraw the offer, you won’t qualify for the payment
unless you have signed the Current Account Switch Agreement before the offer is withdrawn"0 -

My plan - open another couple of accounts in the week. Wait for the paperwork to come in the post then make sure I date the signed switch forms for 20th Feb. Send them back and complain if I don't get the incentive...
"But I sent it back to you before the end of the month and you can see I signed it on the 20th, so you must have taken too long to process my signed forms".0 -

If they don't officially extend the offer, we're fast approaching the point at which only in-branch switch requests will be able to be processed in time...simply because of the time its taking to send out the forms, if reports on here are anything to go by.0 -

They do know when they send the forms out as a record is kept on one of their many systems. On Friday one of the happy chappies on the sales support team went through when every single pack was sent (or resent) out from every application I've made since November when I chased why I hadn't received one from last week.
Technically, strictly speaking, if the terms are taken on face value, one could sign their switch agreement today and not return it until March (as long as the switch date is within 3 weeks from the signing date) and claim they still qualify.0 -
I opened one these in the (fairly) early days but, now that I know more than one account is possible, I'm thinking of doing another tomorrow to get in before the deadline.
But I've lost track a bit and, with 33 pages to plough through, I'm having difficulty finding answers; can anyone clarify for me?
1 I know it was said that an initial £1k was all that was necessary for the Current A/c Direct and the £1k/month was only to get the 2% interest but the T&Cs say the a/c 'is only available if you pay in each month'. So can they close it if I don't?
2 I seem to recall reading that only one Current A/c Direct was available and further a/cs should be Current A/c Plus, was that right?0
