    Thank you sir.
  • Nonsense! Not directed at you, but what you were told. ;)I'd term it 'clever'!...but even I wouldn't do so many.
Are you deeming that person to be cleverer than you? Can't have someone beating our YorkshireBoy!
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.

Just got off the phone to Clydesdale Bank, opened up a plus account (to go with my CD Current Account Direct, YB Plus, and YB Current Account Direct).

As soon as I got on the phone, the gentleman was straight in answering why I needed another account, I said for work related expenses, which I like to keep seperate, and again this was questioned....

All the same, that's one more account set up for switching, and as long as I sign the paperwork by the 28th and then pay in £1000 within 31 days of the switch completing then I should be good for the Incentive (x4).

Just quickly - The £1000 can go in and out on the same day, like every other criteria right?

And also - the Internet banking, is Clydesdale and YB completely seperate? ie - 2 comletely different logins?

    Thanks

    Joe

    Just a quick question.

My understanding is you can only have one Current Account Direct as a sole account across both banks - you seem to have opened two (one at CB/one at YB). I am assuming the second isn't a joint account?

Is that actually possible now - or is it just their systems not catching up with each other? There could be a risk the second gets closed later - although more likely you would just get downgraded to a plus account?

Also i have only done one of the banks so far – as its easier with one login.

If you try the other do they have records of your accounts with the other bank (CB or YB?) when you make the call?

I'm certain I won't have the 'record' when the final numbers are published, but I'm happy with my lot.

I've done almost every other switching incentive over the years, and some of them several times when you could, but this one could pay more than the rest put together!

    Hiya,

I also heard about the 'only one Current Account Direct' between CD and YB, however I have managed to open 1 of each, with out any referalls.

All of my accounts are Sole (No joints).

After following this whole thread, it seems the rules are stricter and also more relaxed randomly depending on who you speak to on the phone etc.

I'm not looking forward to working my way through 2 sets of Internet banking logins, it's gotta be said!

But you're right, it will be interesting if all 4 are set up, without any snags/re-referalls etc.

I was NOT asked the question: "Do you have another account with YB/CD?" at all, when setting up the accounts.

    Hope this helps

    Joe

I'm assuming the accounts aren't actually open yet? Are they awaiting paperwork to open them or are they open?

When I applied for a Current Account Direct with both right at the start of the 4% offer in November 2013, the system approved both applications but only one account got opened upon returning the paperwork - the other was seemingly opened and then closed looking at my credit file although I never had any cards or anything sent back from the other.

    someone managed 23 accounts.......???

    how did he/she do that?

I can't think of enough reasons to give them for opening a new account

    Anyone got any new ideas?

Why can't you start from the beginning again, ie 'bills'? It's extremely unlikely the advisor is going to have all your other accounts open in front of them...all arranged so they can see the 'intended use' field. ;)

Wow, people expecting £2000 incentive over 20ish accounts. This could be entertaining to see the bank's response.
