    Already had a Direct
    Opened 8 more
    9 still open
    3 paid out
3 more should pay out this coming week
2 more should pay out in around 3 weeks
Going for 2 more (but the donors aren't ready yet), and these will be applied for at the branch which holds my only genuine long-held account (the Direct mentioned above). I've deliberately left these until last, to minimise any possible chance of rejection/refusal/referral.

I have been a customer for 35 years though, so maybe that's why I haven't been referred (yet!).

You should win an award for their most loyal and persistent customer. But it shows how ridiculous this all is - I know NAB are desperate to sell off CB and YB but who on earth thought this all up and potentially allowing people to get up to nine current account incentives (and nine accounts).

PS They even named their website after you - YBonline.co.uk:D

They were my main bank for years...until I started using this website. I've always kept a current account there, as 30+ years 'time with bank' helps my credit rating. I only went back (in terms of actually using the account more than once per year) when they launched the 4% Direct and I upgraded from Plus.

They do have shockingly poor customer service though, but fortunately this is offset somewhat by their deep pockets when it comes to saying sorry!

But I agree, whoever wrote/signed off these switching incentive T&Cs needs hauling over the coals!

I suspect they know exactly what they're doing on that (but on little else). The price they get for the operation will depend on the number of accounts - and maybe they're taking the chance that due diligence won't pick up on the number of 'temporary', shall we say, accounts. Stranger things have happened in banking takeovers. ;)

I like your style YB! I wish I were that brave to open so many accounts. ;-)

I received the paperwork for my 4th account Friday -- Guess what, they forgot to put the switching forms in! I called them up and said they would be with me same day... I have my doubts.... have anyone got a copy of the switching forms at all? Scan by email or PM would be good... worried that it's approaching the end of Feb deadline! ;-)
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

Not as prolific as YB, but I got ...

    Aug 2014 £100 Halifax (switched a 1% Nationwide Flexplus)
    Nov 2014 £100 M&S Voucher (switched a Co-Op current account)
Jan 2015 £150 Clydesdale (switched a Cahoot account, had to make un-dormant first)

Now the Clydesdale is being switched to a new Co-Op account (date 17/02/2015) for £100 from Co-Op plus £35.35 from Topcashback.

    Nearly £500, not bad.

My main bank is firstdirect but most of my non-ISA cash savings are in two Santander 123 accounts. I'm just tarting the rest!

Does anyone know if there is any way to speed up the form signing process in order to get a couple more accounts in before the end of the month? I'm thinking maybe photocopy the forms I've got at the moment then ask the next phone operator for the account number / sort code so I can try to send off completed switch forms before they've sent theirs out?

Either that or has anyone been able to successfully find somewhere to scan/fax the completed switch forms back to the bank in order to save a few days in the post?

Trouble with that is the accounts aren't actually open until you return the signature mandate form.
