Why do people post competitions?

Love this forum, had to give up work a few months ago because of ME/Fibro flare meaning I was getting too tired and having a complete creative and mental block. Not helpful when you have demanding clients!
Love comping as a hobby as for the most part you don't need to think just enter and I can pick and choose when i enter. I feel like Im contributing something when I win. Not a substitute for work obviously but just better than doing nothing until I recover enough to work.

Being new to comps I was thinking the same thing. But after entering a few (hundred) mostly from here and winning a few already I started to feel like I should give something back so have started to post.

If I stumble across one on the net or emailed one etc I think I will take the effort to share as I have started doing. I feel too guilty to enter and not share every once in a while

TBH Twitter happens so quick and is pretty easy to search out comps with little effort so I don't think I would post those. Plus with twitter I usually enter on my phone whist watching the TV or in bed so coming on and posting is a load of hassle and I forget about the comp by then!
I don't really do Facebook comps unless they don't interfere with my feeds (don't want to annoy my friends with my comping!)

But regular Comps, I think we should all pitch in, it helps keep it busy and encourages others to use the comp board. Which means more comps for us

I have found a few Twitter ones that were not here, and have added them, will continue to do so - time permitting.

My concern is guessing the end dates.

I'm guilty as charged but mainly because when I do post I make such a pigs ear of it owing to the excitement of actually finding a comp that hasn't been posted already lol but I will make a conscious effort to post more and if I get it wrong feel free to give me a nudge

On the original question, I rarely post except the 2 take a break puzzle mags cos mostly they are already on here by the time I find them.

I think I have found 3 that had not been posted previously, in ten years. :eek:
Must try harder.
I only found those by dint of needing the website involved for some reason.
Ah well if none of us bothered then there would be no comps board an fewer wins.
