  • Hugs Kaz, sometimes you have to just give in to it a little, hope you feel better soon.

I have been in bed all morning but now have a thumping headache so I am not sure if I would be better up and about a bit. I do really want to go back to bed though!

Oh and the garage have rung to say the car is ready so that doesnt sound like its been a big job. Wish I could go and get it but that would mean a 3 mile walk which I am not really up to! Will have to wait until OH gets home.

Going to pootle about and sort some washing I think.

Beautiful sunshine here, seems like the first time for weeks. So instead of flying indoors, I went to the allotment for an hour and a half. I have now sown broad beans and mangetout peas for early next year, and planted garlic. :D

The living room will be done this afternoon.

(((Hugs))) Kazwookie. Hope you feel better soon. You too, YorkshireLass, wendywitch and pigpen and all your littlies.

DH has just reminded me that he is not going to model railway club this evening because we are going to a performance by a touring theatre company from York :) so I really must crack on with my other work, and the baking, crafty stuff and QHI will have to wait until another day ;)

if that's the one I was reading about in the daily paper (new vessel and adults only) I am well jell.

    BUT

I am a VERY LUCKY lady.

I have been offered the gift of a 'new' Valli mobile!
Yes, that's the one.:o It was the "adults only" bit that tipped the balance.;) We've managed to get holiday insurance sorted, too - via one of the links on Martin's advice page.:money: My pre-existing stuff reads like "War & Peace".:rotfl:
    Enjoy your new Vallimobile.:o

I shall probably regret asking - but how on earth did that happen??:D
    Second breakfast eaten
    I hadn't realised our Dusty was a Hobbit.:D

New Challenge for me, for the next few months, is to get my health as good as it can be, so that I can fully enjoy our cruise.

Mr LW is seeing the urologist this afternoon; hopefully that will be the end of it, and one less thing to stress about.

I have a physiotherapy appointment Wednesday next week, in the evening, so hopefully we'll be further forward with my paws.

Next real problem is how to "cure" the fact that I'm nocturnal. I'm now to the point of lying there staring at the ceiling til at least 04:00 every night, and being unable to function properly during the day. I've done all the usual stuff - hot milky drinks, lavender incense, hop pillows etc. Having a bath actually wakes me up if I do it at night because it's hard work and quite painful, even with the bath lift; I take Valerian tablets, too, which help a bit, but not as good as I'd like - I take them fairly early in the evening, too, in the hope of them kicking in before it's actually bedtime, and still I can't sleep. We don't have screens in the bedroom - by that I mean tv or computers etc - so that's not an issue; I'm at a bit of a loss. GP was no help - "go to bed earlier". Yep, all that does is give me an extra half hour or whatever of staring at the ceiling!!:wall:

I hoped that typing it all out might give me a  of something I've not tried.:D Oh well, back to the drawing board.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Hi all - just read back but not gone in - hope you did OK Iona - when I looked in fruit bowl there was only a banana there for my post weigh in breakfast DH had taken the last pear - well I have been " nagging" him to get back on his diet!!! LOL!

Dusty - don't know much about GF diets - can GP refer you to local dietician for advice? My D Sis used to be one many moons ago - if you want me to ask her just let me know.

I lost another 1lb - making 3st since end of April and joining SW and in spite of hols and numerous trips to DS! - so "treated" myself to new recipe book as a reward- as I am getting fed up of same meals. Only a few lbs to my rather high target - but may reduce it a little after Xmas when I have maintained for a while.

Had a brill morning - bits of shopping - done - ironing done - hoovered dining room, tidied up, washing and drying done, WUDUPA. Now more Ironing!! Tidied the sink cupboard and the magazine rack too and all downstairs hotspots are in one place!!

Some knitting done whilst allowed brunch to digest. Have made list of " what I did today" - just for self really.

After I have decluttered this coffee will do the rest of the downstairs windows and prep dinner.

Hope you get better soon Pigpen and littlies and everyone else that's poorly x

Brill gift Valli - just realised what you meant - thought you meant " mobile" as in phone!!!!!

    Will catch up tomorrow.

Oops, I misread mobile as a phone, as well. Congrats, Valli.

Despite thinking I was leaving it until late tonight, I have carpet washed. In the end I realised I wouldn't feel like it after OH has treated me to Wevverspoons tonight, followed by Gone Girl at the Arts Centre.

Just got to do 15 mins in my Room of Doom and I'm flown for the day. Most unlike me to finish Flying this early - normally I leave it until the last possible minute, whinging and procrastinating for all I'm worth. Sorry you're feeling under the weather, Kazwookie - my spare guag vibes are heading your way.
    Better is good enough.

Oh my, 4 pages in and here I come waltzing in without a thing to say for myself!

I'm home from paid stuff because I've got a call at 4 and if it runs on I need to be here to collect the kiddies, not stuck in town. I'm WFH tomorrow too, got heaps to do and then I'm technically off until the 24th. I say technically, you know it won't happen ;)

My black bin has gone out ready for morning and that is literally all I've done! It is full, though :o

I really need to empty some kitchen cupboards - hoping to declutter some carp over the next 10 days.

Have a lovely time in Iceland (not the shop) deco xxx

@Pigpen I hope your family are feeling better soon

@Kazwookie sending you hugs and happy thoughts

    @Lamewolf the holiday sounds lovely

I've come to realise that I'm not going to be able to do masses of the lists, but at a minimum I would like to do at least 2 or 3 off the list every day. Hopefully my house will start looking ship shape again then.

Terrible Tuesday ~ Kitchen and Dining Room
    15 minutes...
    [STRIKE]Clean floors[/STRIKE]
    30 minutes to spare...
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/STRIKE] - going to do after a coffee break
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, clean out any spills or grots in there!
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
    Got an hour...
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
[STRIKE]Wipe small appliances and replace.. do one thoroughly.. descale or decrumb or
    degunge![/STRIKE]

    Clean the windows in here!
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
Check those washing machine filters and drawers for ickiness!! Tumble dryer and dishwasher filters need to be done too!!
    Extra Mission

    Choose one or more of:
    • Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
    • Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
    • 30 minutes ironing.
    • Clean oven if you didn't do it last week
    • Take a freezer/fridge inventory and see if you can start using it up and making space for christmas goodies!!
    Deep Clean Challenge
Get in a manky cupboard. Give it all GOOD scrub out before placing the things you need to use soon at the front, throw out everything you don’t want/need. If no messy cupboard do a food inventory!! Feel free to get carried away and do more cupboards!!!
