Both Equifax and Experian offer a 30 day free trial of their online subscription services, you can apply online via these links.

    https://www.creditexpert.co.uk/UK/Order1_1.aspx
    https://www.econsumer.equifax.co.uk/consumer/uk/order.ehtml?prod_cd=UKESNG&pri_opt=UKESNG_5999_ANNUAL_TRL

If at the end of thirty days you do not wish to continue with the subscription you should contact the CRA and cancel, if you fail to do so you will be charged the annual fee (approx £60). These services are expensive but they not only offer you the valuable information contained in your credit reports, they also offer a means to combat identity theft and fraud.

    Hope this helps.[/quote]

Can anybody help me i am trying to cancel experian credit report and cannot find how or where to do it.
    thanks jean

I can remember, some years ago when I had a similar question. I think you'll need to call them up and one of their fianacial experts will run through some question before cancelling the credit report. I guess this is part of the security measure to avoid fraud or someone else trying to cancel it.

  • You can obtain a credit report by following this instructions
    Step1
Visit the Web site for one of these credit reporting agencies: Equifax (https://www.equifax.com), TransUnion (https://www.transunion.com) or Experian (https://www.experian.com).
    Step2
Decide whether you want to order a report online, by phone or by mail.
    Step3
Have a credit or debit card handy if ordering online or by phone.
    Step4
Include your full name, current address and any other addresses you have had in the last two years, Social Security number, date of birth, current employer and phone number if ordering by mail. Sign your request and include a check for the applicable amount. You can expect to receive a paper copy of your credit report within 15 business days.
    Step5
Review the report closely for errors. If you do find errors, inform the bureau in writing that you believe the information is in error. Include copies of any documentation to support your position.
    Step6
Consider using one of the services that reports information from all of the major agencies - they can sometimes report information differently.

Since TransUnion is a US Credit Report agency don't think it would be of any use to those in the UK.

Because of my bad credit score, I applied for a loan to blackhorse and went to their office in cockfosters, london, The guy who was dealing with my application was puzzled when my loan details with Natwest didn't appear on experian's system. He said my score was 751.

I applied online to expertcredit (experian), I received an email asking for 2 proof of documentation of address and a copy of my passport. Can't bother to do that.

Then I applied to equifax, it gave me a phone number to phone to complete the purchase.

I don't know whether they will charge me If I don't do anything they ask.

asking for a passport is a bit much on top of the other proof.

I signed up for both of these trials and cancelled afterwards without difficulty. There's certainly no need to wait for 30 days to do this ;)

When i signed up to one of these, i just sent an email to them to cancel. Also dont leave it till the 30th day as you will proberbly get charged!

I had a 30 day free trial 2 years ago, promptly cancelled it without being charged. I signed up on saturday for another free trial and they immediately took 7 quid without informing me!

    so be careful
