hi all
i am quite new in the forum but i have been watching you for quite a while.
A quick and very important question:
can a credit agency call at your work?
coz i've just open an account with halifax and today we've received a call from a credit agency?
Please HELPMoney.....0 -
Hi all,
Does anybody know how long its take a cancelled credit card to no longer show on credit reports?
Cheers.0 -
In answer to both above posts - yes you can be contacted at work but feel free to tell them your office is open plan so unsafe to reveal details.
Credit reference agencies are sometimes not informed of a loan or card being removed. Obtain a free credit report, check it and contact the bank concerned if you spot a problem.
Lastly, welcome to you both!Money is not the root of all evil - Money-wasting is!;)0 -
Hi, I have a question if anyone can answer please
I've just viewed my Equifax file online and it shows electoral roll information at my previous address (1990-1995) when I had a different surname.
This is my parents address and recently I also lived there again between 2003-2006 but my personal details now differ - i.e different surname.
I have checked my experian file and that only shows current information with new surname.
Will the above info at Equifax confuse lenders due to the time frames and surnames? I'm surprised they keep info from over 11 years ago ..:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

Hi all. had a quick scan through the posts and dont think i saw it so please dont shoot me down if im repeating but ... :-)
I recently started using http://www.annualcreditreport.co.uk/ which is completely free to view all your information that, as far as i can see, is held by the big three anyway.
Just sign up give a few details, they dont ask for any card details and you receieve a code to input to the site a few days later giving you access to your upto date credit info.
Hope this is usefull,

As far as I'm aware, the annualcreditreport service provides information from just one credit reference agency, Callcredit.“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

could someone give me some advice i'm new to credit cards or debit cards, i don't have a credit card or debit card and was recently refused a debit card from the bank i'm currently with, i'm married but the property is in my wifes name, i don't have a mobile fone on contract, i'm working and have a regular income coming into my account, all the bills are in my wifes name, but i have an excisting debt with another bank which i should have paid off ages ago and only owe a couple of hundred quid so will pay it off next month, but which is the best way to improve my credit score/rating just so i can have a debit card don't really want to get into debt just to improve my credit score, soz for waffling on0
