I am on minimum wage and already stated that I work strange hours. Unless I'm to get under my car in the middle of the night with my haynes manual...
Just no. Besides which, my arthritis wouldn't much like being down on the floor.
That'd be just dandy. Why am I off work sick? I can't move because I was fixing my car all night (on a budget of zero) so I could get to work.

I am not explicitly stating that you start your own DIY car maintenance that was only an example.
There are always opportunities to improve ones situation and nobody said it will be easy. It is up to you how much you want something...0 -

Go on then. What are the specifics? First I'll get a time machine and go back to when I got the car... then what? What do you suggest that I could've done differently?
Honestly. It's like talking to HMRC. Nonsense. And I used to work for them!I can't add up.0 -

What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

The problem with cars is I managed fine without one. Then when I passed my test I used my car to get everywhere. I could still manage without a car (but would have to change one of my shifts at work as no public transport that day of the week) but once you are so used to having a car you take it for granted.0

OP when did you last change the oil in your car?0

Hyperxr hasn't actually said anything remotely helpful. Nothing at all except being vague about what I should've been doing with my time.I can't add up.0 -

The problem is suppermassive is that you haven't actually asked a question, you just came here to rant about the cost of repairing your car. What can we do about it?
You also ignored my question of when you changed your oil last0 -
