Just my luck.

I am on minimum wage and already stated that I work strange hours. Unless I'm to get under my car in the middle of the night with my haynes manual...
Just no. Besides which, my arthritis wouldn't much like being down on the floor.
That'd be just dandy. Why am I off work sick? I can't move because I was fixing my car all night (on a budget of zero) so I could get to work.

To be fair, judging by your attitude on here with people that are only trying to help it's no wonder you're on minimum wage.0 -

mattyprice4004 that is a bit uncalled for. What car do you drive?0 -

I'm only on minimum wage because of where I live. The humber region is hardly brimming with jobs.
Before I lived in australia for 2 years working for ANZ bank on a lovely wage, before that I was working in the DWP on £24k per year and driving a 2002 MX5. Being that I'm only 26 now, it's not bad going.
As for my attitude - erm, when did I ask for your opinion on that? Oh, I didn't. I've been perfectly nice to anyone that's tried to help. And perfectly sarcastic to those that have nothing constructive to offer.
Not one person has commented so far on the actual question I asked - which was about whether they could've tampered with my clutch when it went in for the exhaust the previous day.I can't add up.0 -

A real one I bet.supermassive wrote: »

If it's cable maybe something got knocked, is pedal loose?0 -
To answer your question, no, replacing part of your exhaust won't involve any work near the clutch. Even if replacing the exhaust manifold end - it's highly unlikely a mechanic could cause a failue of the clutch. Which if the exhaust was hanging off I suspect they didn't even go any further forward than the flexipipe, let alone in the engine bay.
Sadly, your clutching at straws. You've had a bout of bad luck it seems.
The price sounds high for a new clutch though! Try shopping around.0 -
Apart from the tiny possibility of it being a dodgy garage who loosened something in the hope you'd come back and fork out £400 for the repair, it's unlikely.
Also, why do people buy old French cars and then moan about reliability?0 -
You didn't get your exhaust done at Kwik-Fit did you?
"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0
