  • I hope you get the appointment Luck, let it all out to the doctor, Granny(I think it was her amongst many others now I have read back!) is right, they absolutely should be helping more.

But just you remember, in the midst of all this, you are still here. There is a little core of YOU and it is ok. You are ok. this is a stage, a moment in time and it will come good I promise. And until there we are here sending you love strength and support.

  • Hi there chaps, just to reassure you I have been on Prozac and then citalopram since 2001. They are in the SSRI family and are licensed for long term use. I regard them as the same as insulin for a diabetic and know I am blessed that someone created them! The alternative for me is to barely function, I've tried to get off them before.

We with wobbly brains are easily judged but we are generally strong capable types who've had too much stress for too long which wears down our chemical coping systems. So go for the wobbly brain meds I say!!! We have earned the right to have help and I for one am eternally grateful for them.

Have a restful night all! Xxx
With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

  • Bless DS1, and DS2. Adorable!!

I am very glad you are trying for that appointment. If the woman asks on the desk what the emergency is, tell her it is personal. Doctor patient privilege protects you; you don't have to answer that question, it breaches data protection! :) xxx

I hope you've managed to get an appointment already but agree with Lilt - if the receptionists are usually a bit funny then just say it's personal and you need to see a doctor today!!! 4 weeks is unacceptable especially for someone who is in charge of 3 other people and an entire household, would be far worse if you ended up out of commission for a few days - imagine how many people would be needed to step in and do what you usually do to keep everything running!

    Hi Lucky

I'm sorry to hear that you have been suffering with anxiety. I know the feeling, I have been having some issues at work, on top of some issues at home, and I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday. I am getting to the point where I am starting to let it affect all my relationships, and for four nights in the space of eight I have had bad dreams that have woke me up, and I haven't been able to breathe properly. I am phoning the doctors myself today! Luckily my bf is being very supportive and I have asked him to come with me if he can! I am currently receiving counselling but that is also only every two weeks, which drives me potty, because I feel like I am getting somewhere and, something takes over and ruins the good feeling and I want that to stop because I don't want to lose my bf over it!! I am currently not on any medication, I don't know if that may make things worse!

Bless your DS1, I was crying in work a couple of weeks ago, and bless one of the year 1s said to me 'Miss x I saw you crying before, why were you crying." I obviously tried not to draw attention to it, but I couldn't not...his mum was there!!

I really hope that you manage to speak to your doctor, and get somewhere, just remember you are not alone, and help is out there xx

  • I feel like all I ever say is thank you, but genuinely, thank you all for being so supportive and sharing your experiences. It really helps.

Had an appointment with a nurse practitioner this afternoon and explained the anxiety and other physical symptoms which may or may not be linked. I didn't sleep at all last night and I simply can't go on feeling the way I am. She agreed that a 4 week wait for an appointment is ridiculous and has made me one with a GP on Wednesday morning. I'm also having some tests done for my stomach issues just incase it isn't linked. Feel a bit more positive knowing that I'm doing something about it.

Had been up since the crack of dawn and ready, assuming appointment would be given for this morning. However, when I rang up and they gave me one for the afternoon, that then left me with a good few hours to kill. It's been rainy and miserable here today, so we took ourselves off to the cinema to see Shaun the Sheep, which was entertaining. The rest of the day has been spent playing board games which has been great fun.

As exhausted as I am, I am off to clubbercise with my Cousin tonight. Think it will help me mentally, and hopefully will help me sleep tonight!

Today's good deed was to send some cards to my friends (who are sisters) to let them know I am thinking of them while their Mum is poorly in hospital. Bit of a cop out again as I'd do that anyway. Throughout this process I have found it difficult to think of new things that I would do as an extra, but I'm pleased to realise it's because I'm a caring person anyway. Love trumpet blowing Lucky, it's about time you realised what we've been saying about you for years.

  • HI lucky, well done on going to the Dr today and I'm glad it went well, hope Wednesday goes ok as well.

    Take care.x.
  • HOORAY for trumpet blowing *does a little fanfare* - about time too woman!!! You ARE amazingly caring. If you weren't you would not do what you do every single day with the boys and DH, let alone everyone else you help!!

I am so pleased you got in to see the nurser practitioner today and have a plan of action for your tummy, and a Dr's appointment for Weds. I hope it is with a nice doc! And they don't just throw meds at you. It is no bad thing if they do, but at the same time, you need more support as we all keep saying. Meds take a while to kick in! :)

Have just seen your care package.... :o where do I sign for mine!? ;) that is at least a weeks worth of good deeds there, so adding the cards on just makes you even more epic. :D xxx

  • P.S... you have me inspired. Not only did we bake cookies at 9am this morning (all gone... oops!:o) but I have firm plans to go out to Canterbury on the bus tomorrow for a mooch around the shops, a picnic next to the rover and lots and lots of sightseeing :) and if it is tipping it down with rain... we shall instead walk a couple of miles to the local soft play :D xx

Thank goodness you're finally getting sorted at the doctors. Let's hope they come up with some solutions. I think you're quite entitled to blow your own trumpet by the way :)
