  • You have a good point Satchmo. My GP has no clue what my life is like and indeed I don't often see the same one. DH sees the same GP every time and she is lovely. She would know the situation inside out without me having to go through it at all Xx

Levi and SA, I'm sorry to hear your areas are the same. I'm a massive fan of the NHS, and feel so sorry for the frontline staff who are obviously overstretched and lacking resources.

But are you both in the same practice Lucky?
If so just see the same one as OH sees.

  • No Beanie, we aren't. Our 2 practices share the same building but are totally seperate. When DH and I first moved in together I misunderstood which one he was with and joined the other one! Then the boys automatically became extensions of me in my practice, but truth be told DH's practice seems to be run in a different/better way.

Still very much struggling with anxiety. When it hits it's all consuming. Someone mentioned FEAR on Levi's diary - False Evidence Appearing Real, and this sums it all up. I've never been like this before, I'm usually like 'what will be will be' and only worrying WHEN it happens. Now I spend my time worrying IF it will happen until I convince myself it will. I'm quite exhausted by it all if I'm honest :(.

    Hi Lucky,

Just catching up after a break from MSE.

One thought and purely 'cos I've been suffering with anxiety for awhile - one of the symptoms of perimenopause is fear, stress and similar. Such a joy!

It's truly annoying, irrational and all sorts of other things that get in the way of life. Hope things inprove.
  • Evening all! Smarties, Granny and JAT, thank you for your input/support. I'm definitely going to look into switching Drs practice. I also rang the Carer's Centre to chase the counselling I've been waiting for since November. Someone was supposed to call me back, but I haven't heard anything for the rest of today.

Jat, I'm sorry you have been suffering. I had a wee google of perimenipause symptoms and I'm not sure that I have enough of them, but I will certainly bear it in mind. My googling then lead me on to a depression/mood self test, and it came out that I am not depressed but I score in the top 50% of anxiety so I should see my GP. Which I'm trying to do. In 4 weeks .

This morning we had the guy round to do a technical survey for cavity wall insulation. He said we qualify, but he's worried about the state of the rendering on the front of the house. We have a few cracks which could be from water getting in, and if they were to fill the cavity wall then any water that is in there would start coming in to the house . So we need to look at getting rendering fixed, however we are more in need of windows as our are rotten and letting water in. They are single glazed and have probably been in for 65 years since the house was built. There is really no point in rendering before we get new windows.

Today's good deed was to take MiL out for lunch to tell her that we appreciate all she does :A.

DH says I've been snappy today. Pot/kettle anyone? In all fairness though, I was getting fed up this morning. When DH is involved with something I don't even try to talk to him as I know he can't cope with more than one thing at a time, however, he expects me to immediately stop what I'm doing if he needs to talk to me. I do know that this is because he's frightened he will forget what he wants to say, but it can get frustrating when you keep getting interrupted just so you can go over something you have already explained ten times!

DS2 is loaded with cold tonight :(. Can the poor little guy not catch a break?!?! Xx

No wonder you are feeling anxious with all that's going on. Your house sounds like mine, one job leads to another! Hope your DS2 feels better soon, he's really going through it bless him.

  • Hi Lucky! :hello:

Are you over your cold now? I think you had one like all the rest of us? Poor DS2. Its one thing after another for all of us "sick" people. I am on my fourth cold and this one is hanging on.

Soooo glad grandma is ok. Do you and DH have anything planned for V day? I'm thinking about cooking OH and I a nice meal but that's as far as I have thought. We swapped pressies earlier in the week. He got me a love heart cake with "Love You" on it. Very mushy for my OH LOL.

    Thinking of you.

    October xx
