Poor Oakley. If it's bothering him and it's already been a few days maybe getting it checked is best. I'd never heard of the flour trick either but it works. Our vet is pretty good. The other dog needs antihistamines sometimes but she tells us to buy cheap over the counter ones with a certain ingredient in - can't remember it now - rather than pay their prices. Weird thing is she's a partner so you'd think she'd be encouraging me to buy their stuff. xx

Well it's a homopathic cream that I use on myself for cuts & grazes & it works well.
I may have used it on one of the cats.
Certainly cheaper than the vets if it works.

Think it is about 6 or 7 quid. xx

My dog is always biting her paws, mentioned it to the vet and she couldn't see anything amiss. Mr SA gets really stressed about it. Looked it up on the Internet and it seems pretty common in dogs.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Thanks all. He’s flat out next to me and not seemed bothered by the paw for a good while, will assess it again in the morning but I don’t want it to get any worse.

DH has been having ‘waves’. Can’t have anyone else getting the limelight eh?! :(.

  • The paw seems better today :T.

DH isn’t great and says the inside of his mouth has gotten worse again :(. Have rang the dental hospital as they originally said there was a stronger mouthwash option if we needed it. Hoping they’ll get back me tomorrow.

Had to put some petrol in the car today so I’m a bit worried that I’ve left us short now. Will keep a close eye on things until the mortgage is due on Tuesday. Got a major dose of perspective this afternoon though when I heard a lady win £10k on the radio. Bless her, she’d just lost her son to leukaemia and was going to use the money to pay off his funeral and get the memorial stone she really wanted for him. I was in floods! I may not have any money, but at least I have my boys, and I know which I’d rather have Xx

DH has several types of seizure. The least invasive are mini seizures which for DH feels like ‘waves of fear’. They are debilitating for him but they only last a minute or two so he recovers quite quickly, though they can happen over and over. The next type of seizure he has is a partial. He chews uncontrollably, loses the use of the left hand side of his body and his hand usually goes claw like. They last longer and take it out of him more. It’s usually accompanied by confusion or being unable to get sensible words out. The ‘worst’ type of seizure he has are Tonic-Clonic (TC) seizures, which used to be called Grand Mal. These are the ‘drop to the floor shaking uncontrollably’ type seizures that you see being depicted on tv etc. He can cluster seizure and I usually have to administer rescue meds. He is affected a lot by those in the hours/days afterwards Xx
